Hive glitches - Can anyone replicate?

So, I've run in to a few glitches with hives this patch (may have existed before and I haven't noticed) that I was wondering if anyone else could replicate, as I'm not sure how they happened or how to reproduce them.
The first one happened on Mineshaft. I don't remember which hive was first, but we had a crag hive in Ore (the original, not the renamed Refinery) and a shift hive in Cave. The 'rines took out cave, and as we had lost our Khamm, I jumped in to replace it after they were driven out. After the hive went up, I was poking around Cave again as it was under assault, and either accidentally clicked one of those popup buttons over the hive, or hit C to bring up the map, and started researching a shade hive. Since I wanted a shift hive, I selected the hive and cancelled the upgrade. A minute or so later, when I had a moment to look at the hive and pick an upgrade again, shift wasn't available as an option, only shade was. At this point the only two hives we had were the crag at Ore and the untyped at Cave. Jumping out of the hive (at Ore) and re-entering didn't help. The button for shift just wasn't there.
So, tl;dr, the game apparently thought that we had a shift hive already, but wouldn't let me place shift related buildings.
The other, possibly related, glitch I have seen on Summit and Veil. Again, aliens had 2+ hives, and marines brought us down to one. Even though we only had one hive, newly spawned lifeforms still had access to researched abilities like leap. In the Veil game, I even think the Khamm said that he could research stomp and vortex once a second hive was rebuilt.
Tl;dr, the game thought we had one more hive than we actually did.
All of these occurred 30+ minutes in to the games, as I recall, if that could be a factor, and the Summit and especially Veil games had a lot of base swapping with the marines, so the hives had moved around a bit if that could also be a factor.

I thought it was a feature, or do you not lose these when you die?
Right, keeping the abilities while alive is a feature, but these are being kept after dying and respawning, even with only one hive.

Cool, thanks, wasn't sure if this was known.

For the marines, maybe. It's very fun for the aliens :-D
we had 1 hive yesterday but still bilebomb.
I nor the OP were talking about lifeforms continuing to use them, we know that is a feature.
The bug is that t2 tech continues to be available/research-able, and lifeforms newly hatched still retain the ability to use t2 tech when you no longer have a 2nd hive (or, the games thinks you have more hives than you actually do). Ask Ironhorse if you need more clarification, I've messaged him a few times about this bug.
