Will my CPU cause a huge issue with this game?

While you won't be able to run the game on High at 1080p, by 1.0 you should be able to run the game at low-medium detail at a playable level - and performance will only increase as development continues.

Thank you for this info, however through the test via 'http://www.systemrequirementslab.com' It stated my pc was well bellow the minimum system requirements to play the game. But I shall take your word for it, and I will be happy to be able to play the game through the medium settings, while maintaining a decent FPS.

As long as you stick to smaller, (12-16 player) 100% performance, >100ping servers you should be fine.

I'm able to run NS2 on my laptop (which is a Core2Duo @2.0Ghz), so you will be able to play NS2. However, you'll probably have performance issues (my laptop ranges between 5-20 fps).

Might want to add that the FPS will majorly drop when there's a lot of stuff going on in 1 place.. EG, quite a few players and buildings near or in the same location. Experienced this yesterday, while the rest of the gameplay was smooth.

I'm sorry to say that I think you will experience significant performance issues even with all settings on low. Its possible that between now and release there will be some optimizations that make it work out for you but I think you will be restricted to small 14-16 player servers for sure. You can replace your machine if you learn how to build it yourself and rip windows for less then 600 dollars to run the game well.
