Non-douchy version : Stop ramboing and adapt instead, if hidden players are a problem then get a flamer to light up the corridors while keeping a boddy with a shotgun close.
Instead of reacting to your post with scorn (such as some of the other replies), i'll try to seriously address your concern.
The problem you are experiencing is camo (cloak) rendering a fade superior to you, as a solo marine. Consider that the alien player who is the fade spent 50 pres or 40 tres to get that fade.
You as a marine spawn having used 0tres or pres with a LMG. You can spend 20res to get a shotgun fairly early. The cloaked fade gets (to be fair) a free initial opening swing on you. That's it. Consider that if you spent 50 pres/tres on the marine side, that would be 2 shotguns and some other spare gear (Welders come to mind). If you roll down a hallway with 3-4 marines with 2 shotguns, the cloaked fade is instantly dead when he chooses to engage, if you can aim.
It's a RTS with FPS, keep in mind. The commitment of the alien team to a 1st hive cloak and/or drop of ~45 res to get the fade out is a serious pricetag, and you should have to roughly match that res commitment to have equipment adequate to match (when equally skilled players are involved).
You should never expect to be able to kill a 50res lifeform while spending 0res on your capabilities. It's an element of 'balance'. Marines also have multiple methods of exposing cloaked aliens. Proximity to an observatory, or the commander's scan ability. That falls on your commander/teamplay in terms of countering the path the aliens chose to go.
I realize some of this is 'overly noob explanation' and 'i might be getting trolled'. Legitimately attempting to explain a little bit about the steeply-different learning curve of NS/NS2 to someone who may be unaware.
