Should be fixed now. Turns out I was only retrieving the first "set" of servers from the master server. This also explains why I was missing a bunch of servers as compared to Game-Monitor.

I just added a graph of the average tickrate per player count. This is actually a pretty decent indicator of server performance. If it goes down as players go up, you're probably running too many players for your hardware.

Yea, that looks like it's holding up pretty well. I also made the links a bit nicer: <a href="http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/servers/8406/24.86.96.240:27015" target="_blank">http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/servers/8...86.96.240:27015</a> versus <a href="http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/detail.php?id=8406" target="_blank">http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/detail.php?id=8406</a>

Can you elaborate a bit? The new graph is simply the average tickrate per number of players.

I get the left to right legend - but the top to bottom legend seems to be missing numbers?

Should it not be from 1-24?

I'm not seeing 20-24 right now.

    PS: add me on steam.

Oops, that was a bug. Fixed.

I think the polling rate is approximately 5 mins.

I am seeing many servers have 0 tick rate at certain intervals, and usually more around map changes.

Is it possible to add logic to the polling? Something like, if you see a 0 tick rate, disregard and poll again in 1 or 2 minutes. If again a 0 tick rate, record that. This might help to reduce the number of "false positives" / "0 tick rate negative spikes".

    Just a thought?

Or perhaps even... if tick rate = 0 *and* entity = 0 in a given polling, then disregard (or poll in the next minute or 2).

Sorry, I recently had my host upgrade the VPS this is running on, and the scanner didn't restart cleanly with the machine. That means there's going to be about an 8 hour gap with no data.

Looks like it's still down; it's been reporting LM is empty, but it's been full (or at least populated) for many hours now.

Yea I knew something was off when I looked at it earlier in the day yesterday. Hopefully it will be working correctly on Friday.

Looks like now it's completely dead as it also wiped out everyone's log since it didnt think it was online for the last 48 hours.

Sorry about that, not really sure what happened there. I restarted the daemon a couple days ago, and data is populating successfully again.

It's currently online, so I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about.

    Hey Brian,

the website is taking forever to load.

    is it over capacity?

I can provide you with a good host if you like.

Let me know - you have my email.

    Thanks

I have a box I can move it to, but I'm going to be leaving on vacation in a couple days. If I have time before I go I'll move it over, otherwise it will have to wait until I get back.

It has not been monitoring any servers for a few days now. Is there any plan to resume monitoring anytime soon?
  • devicenulldevicenull Join Date: 2003-04-30 Member: 15967Members, NS2 Playtester, Squad Five Blue
Oops, looks like my VPS got restarted and the scanning daemon didn't start up cleanly.  Should be fixed now.

Cancel that it actually worked for like an hour and then stopped.
  • ZEROibisZEROibis Join Date: 2009-10-30 Member: 69176Members, Constellation
site been down for last few hours, just an fyi.
  • ZEROibisZEROibis Join Date: 2009-10-30 Member: 69176Members, Constellation
Site has been up all day but none of the servers are updating since coming back online. I think it is the same issue as before.
  • ZEROibisZEROibis Join Date: 2009-10-30 Member: 69176Members, Constellation
All the servers have dropped off the list.
  • ZEROibisZEROibis Join Date: 2009-10-30 Member: 69176Members, Constellation
    Still not updating.
  • ZEROibisZEROibis Join Date: 2009-10-30 Member: 69176Members, Constellation
Has been over a week now.... Is there any plan to bring the site back up?

Also have you considered making public some code that will allow people to monitor just a single server. This is very useful for identifying and tracking issues with your server and identifying how patches have effected your servers performance.
