I looked at all the new physics/movement bugs in 217 and remembered this epic video from elodea.
So, I've decided to take that as inspiration and made a trick jump movie. I started recording on tram and actually got so much material that I deemed it to be enough for one video.
A few notes before you watch the video:

This is my first experience with video editing.

The beginning of the movie turned out more boring than intended, but it gets better and better, so please watch the whole thing! This is partly due to me learning as I edited the movie and also learning as I made those jumps, since I put them in the movie mostly in chronological order.

I forgot to turn off the UI in most of the recordings and didn't want to re-record, so unfortunately I was stuck with the map and the occasional r_stats.

Some of these jumps required a few dozen tries (a reason why I didn't want to re-record). The physics in NS2 are not 100% consistent and also depend on FPS and Fraps was sometimes randomly locking the game to 30fps.

I had to cut together some sequences due to the randomness of NS2 physics, so it doesn't look as clean and there are also a few fails in the video.

All jumps were done with all weapons equipped unless otherwise noted.

Please do not take this video too seriously. It's not meant to be a super serious awesome skillz movie.

Special thanks to Elodea and a very special person mentioned at the end of the credits.

Without furder ado, here it is:

Criticism is of course welcome.

Oh, that's awesome.
Also, I didn't know that weapons affected movement, besides the flamethrower.
can I paint your "helmet"?
Can you make sense?
Let's do one in proving grounds, using official maps, we'd get some crazy jumps out of that!
Maybe because NS was always meant to be more tactical and methodical about engagements like CS and not crazy Quake style acrobatics.
Sure, it still needs some more tweaking, but having marines jump around more than the aliens is just silly.
