Hello all!
Quick update about the cup:
Sign-ups are closing soon (about 6 more hours) and we have only 5 teams singed up. Because of this all the matches will be played on Saturday. Currently teams participating are: Archaea, duplex, exertus, FINNSTACK and Nexzil. Also, NS2HD has offered to stream some of the matches and I will provide you easy access to his stream either through <a href="http://ensl.org" target="_blank">our site</a> or this forum post.
<b>Here is the current schedule for the matches:</b>
Saturday:
Round 1 (ns2_summit)
9:00 PST | 12:00 EST | 17:00 UTC | 18:00 CET - Exertus vs duplex (Game 1) 2-0 (<a href="http://twitch.tv/naturalselection2" target="_blank">click here for the cast</a>)
Round 2 (ns2_veil)
10:00 PST | 13:00 EST | 18:00 UTC | 19:00 CET - Archaea vs exertus Winner (Game 2) 2-0 (<a href="http://twitch.tv/naturalselection2" target="_blank">click here for the cast</a>) 10:00 PST | 13:00 EST | 18:00 UTC | 19:00 CET - Nexzil vs FINNSTACK (Game 3) 2-0 (<a href="http://www.twitch.tv/blindns2" target="_blank">click here for the cast by blind</a>)
The Final (ns2_summit, ns2_veil and ns2_tram) 11:00 PST | 14:00 EST | 19:00 UTC | 20:00 CET - Archaea vs Nexzil x-x (<a href="http://twitch.tv/naturalselection2" target="_blank">click here for the cast</a>)
<b>Please remember that some of the matches might be delayed because of the unpredictable nature of the game.</b>
Friendly reminder about the rules: <ul><li>matches will be played 6v6</li><li>the upper team on brackets gets to play marines first (eg. game1 that would be exertus)</li><li>all marines rounds will be played on a server that has advantage to marines (or in case EU vs EU what server suits both teams, no nonsense here please)</li><li>best of 3 (rounds*) before finals </li><li>if there's a draw after first 2 rounds, coin flip** will decide who gets to play what side</li><li>best of 5 (rounds) finals</li><li>if your team can't field 6 players for the match you may use up to 2 mercs (they need to have "merc" in their in-game nick)</li></ul>* Do not confuse rounds (alien or marine sides played) with rounds (all the games in specific time period) ** Coin flip will be either admin or caster running into random team. The lower team on brackets will play that side.
For any questions, problems or suggestions please open up a new thread on our forums forums or contact me directly through <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/id/nadyli/" target="_blank">steam</a>, these forums or IRC (#ensl @ QuakeNet/nadyli). If you're new to IRC, there are lot of client options, but I recommend these 2: <a href="http://www.mirc.com" target="_blank">mIRC</a> or use your browser with <a href="http://webchat.quakenet.org" target="_blank">webchat</a>.
<i>Also here is a quick guide how to navigate around our site for all the new NS2 players. <a href="http://www.ensl.org/articles/702" target="_blank">To the guide!</a></i>
I am glad we finally signed up. Most likely because we couldnt really schedule any scrims for the weekend :D . But still, its good for the game to have a small tournament, the only reason u should need to sign up for the night cup...
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Saturday to Sunday. Matches will be played from 18.00CET Saturday up until we have 2 finalists and the "grand" final will be at Sunday 18.00CET.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So the way i see it, either we play the final tomorrow, or if u guys arent up for it, i guess we win by default?

Hello!
Another quick update for you guys about the finals.
After full night of games we couldn't find stable enough US East server to finish the finals today, so tomorrow 9:00 PST | 12:00 EST | 17:00 UTC | 18:00 CET Archaea and Nexzil will battle the last rounds out. First map has already been played which ended up 1-1. blind will be shoutcasting the finals and you can find his stream over <a href="http://twitch.tv/blindNS2" target="_blank">here.</a>

Just a bit of clarification, I do not think this was a stability issue. The all-in servers never crash like that, so having 2 consecutive shutdowns is weird. Now add to that having 420s server shutdown in a very similar manner, despite being a completely different serer/host, something is fishy...

Because our player has been banned from that server and Nexzil cannot remove that ban.

Hello!
Well the NS2 BETA Night Cup is now officially over and we do have a winner. Nexzil managed to beat Archaea in the finals and you can find it casted from <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/blindns" target="_blank">blinds</a> youtube (soon) or <a href="http://twitch.tv/blindns2" target="_blank">twitch.tv</a> channel.
You can see who beat who to get to the finals from <a href="http://www.ensl.org/contests/113" target="_blank">here</a> and the final rankings are: <ol type='1'><li> Nexzil</li><li> Archaea</li><li> exertus & FINNSTACK</li><li> duplex</li></ol>Thanks to teams that participated and also big thanks to <a href="http://www.twitch.tv/blindns2" target="_blank">blind</a> and <a href="http://www.twitch.tv/naturalselection2/" target="_blank">NS2HD</a> for casting the games! We had at least 1400 viewers between the streams so our cup was success! If you have any feedback about the cup go over to <a href="http://www.ensl.org/" target="_blank">our forums</a> and post on <a href="http://www.ensl.org/topics/417" target="_blank">this thread</a>.

Chalk it up to nxzl's negligence I suppose.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I think it would be more accurate to chalk it up to the guy who got banned, he obviously had some bad behaviour.
I entered your ID in several different ways into the web admin with the "sv_unban" command. As well as providing the blank ban list to Zeikko via screenshot. Not sure I could have done much else.
If you do not have a dedicated server with access to the local application data folder on the user account running that server, then IMO you should not be banning people on your server ATM... Basically anyone banned on one server will be banned on any running on that same user account, unless care is taken when configuring the server. Not only will they be banned, but they will be impossible to unban IIRC unless you shut down every other server running on that user account.
This also extends beyond single servers if shared servers on a single box are running on the same account, where a user banned on a completely different server could also end up banned on your server..
Pretty dumb this is still an issue because one person that cannot provide a shred of credible evidence thinks someone is doing something using methods that would be instantly obvious... you shouldnt make accusations about things you know nothing about.

Sorry.
