Option to block blitzkrieg

Hi,

2 games this evening, 16 minutes and 14 mintues coz the aliens did "classic Zerg's (starcraft 1) rush with a direct and intentional attack on the main building (blitzkrieg). 3 aliens on it, i was alone on the commander's station and the other marines are too far away. I stop to play for this evening, it break my evening. I knew that on Warcraft, Total Annihilation (pewees/foudrax's rush on the commander) and Age of empires (scout's rush on the town base) and i have enough. This game have RTS's elements and yeah if the hive/commander's console is destroy marines and aliens cant respawn and the game is over. I have 10 years experience about rushers on my past and i have give enough about them. In this game, rushers are more motivate as usually to do it for ressources they receive and the rush is exponential. There is many options to counter it :

1° include an option about servers which create impenetrable doors for ennemy around the bases for X minutes (10, 15 for exemple).
2° attacking the base structure in the first X minutes mean instant death.
3° give the structures some weapons.

I dont play RTS with rushers, sorry, i have give enough. If you dont put option about it ? i just leave the game directly. I have it since 3 days. So yeah, you will send me back my money. If you dont, you'll have my lawyer on you.

    It's sad to go that way... Rush exist for a long time in ns2 and the survivability of the marines have been improved with the welder and an IP when the game starts.

    1° It will break the gameplay... It is suppose to be dynamic, this is not a RTS only, if you block the map during 10 minutes it doesn't fit the gameplay and ns2. After 10 or 15 minutes you should have upgrades and it is not the start anymore.

    2° It deny freedom of play in the game...

    3° The FPS part of NS2 is enough to defend the structures and sentries/whips are here to add some defense.

    I completely disagree with those features and none of the servers would implement that... Maybe make a mod which enable that and see... Imo this is not viable.

    I completely disagree with the entire OP.

    Rushing is a valid tactic. No rush servers should be available for players who wish to play that style, but the community has the tools to do that via mods. The developers should not implement any of the suggestions of the OP. If there is a big enough community that wants no rush servers, then they should make a mod and buy a server.

    This is really only a problem when you have the Marines base and Aliens spawn point right next to each other on the map or if it's a very small map.
    You hardly see this happen on mineshaft due to it's size and the two spawn point are at opposite ends of the map.
