New Server Browser

<div class="IPBDescription">Killing me bro, killing me.</div>I liked the old menu more, but the new menu is a good direction too.
Whats killing me is the old school server browser. And on top of no functionality. "Sort by ping, name.... not sure if its broke for me but i click the buttons and nothing happens. "
It frakking freezes for about 100 seconds. Could we please get a more functional and optimized server list.

    Hey there. Yes, it's not good right now, but that will improve over the next few weeks. Now they have the framework in it's much easier to fix problems and implement features.

    This mod works wonders. Just download, unzip to a directory, and then run the .bat file. Easy peasy.

    You should never replace something that is not an improvement. I was happy with the old browser till a new improved one was made but the current one is a shocking step back in terms of functionailty.

    I'm all for a new browser but it must be an improvement before incorperating it into the game.

    Don't quite know how to say this, are we are all blessed (some more than others) to be here...oh wait I've got it:

    I'm so glad the worst ever thing UWE has ever dumped on its oh so loyal fans was that menu. Not classy at all, but hey if its the worst thing I have to complain about, then bloody brilliant overall then isnt it ?!?

    Still, rather a large dollop of 'beta liscencing' there sirs .... most of us wouldn't call ourselves 'rational' fans, but I think you proved us wrong because honestly, that menu was unprofessional. These 7 posts, well that was getting away free pretty much, could have been alot worse!

    However this type of entitlement in a beta doesn't really fly. They have to incorporate things in the game step by step, and sometimes it takes steps back before going forward. They need to be allowed to try things, and accept not everything works out perfectly all the time first go.

    And the server browser definitely works better in 209 - but I suggest you download the mod that Cee Colon Slash suggested, it's really good, and even has chat logs ingame and autojoin. You can add " -game menumod" to the steam NS2 launch options so it always loads the mod up without the bat as well.

    No. You hold off on it's release if it's performce is sub standard compared to the version you already have.
    UWE do this with every <u>PUBLIC</u> beta patch released and don't give me that crap.

    Playtesters get the real beta. If you followed the delevoper tracker you would know this. Lots of code goes into the game. Lots of it doesn't make it into the public beta till it's better functioning. The playtesters do a great job of finding most problems and the final product (Public Beta) is usually spit and polished functoning code.

    If UWE new beta patching mantra is releasing working but poorly funtioning, code early (where is the EXO Suit.)

    The sort categories work now and there is absolutely no freezing :D.
    Yay, servers cant empty or fill up in between the minute or two of wating for the game to unfreeze.

    And actually i just wanted to make a post to make sure that the dev team was aware that their "new" server browser was flawed and a big step backwards from what they had in the build before. And the menu, i liked the old menu, and was sad to see the new menu, but i like the "DIRECTION" the new menu is heading. So im not going to dog it, as I do understand beta = WIP.

    But when you implement a "update" that actually breaks basic join/search of servers.....
    Im pretty sure i seen a small drop off after that new server browser. And I dont certainly blame the game as its addictive and fun once you know what you are doing. So i had to blame it on the new server browser,
    see?

    But yeah to my original point.

    Yeah, I don't have to go back to the mod now. I actually didn't like the chat window implementation, but I did like the server browser features.
