Year 3 15th Granite Ilushzefon, Carnagefountains, and the surrounding lands have been made a barony! All hail baron 'Align'.
1st Malachite In an unexpected turn of events, the dwarves elected Imush Oddomkêshshak, a vampire who has been walled off from the rest of the fort ever since the discovery quite a long time ago. There has actually been two vampires, both still alive but chained and separated from the fortress. I think I'll dig a completely isolated sub-fortress for them to live in.
Also lolf, how sure are you about chopping down the weregecko? I would reckon it's quite risky business.

23rd Moonstone Carnagefountains elected to the position of a county. All hail count 'Align'!
1st Opal 'Svenpa' Olonluzat, Janitor, is taken by a fey mood! He grabs a boulder of marble, three gems and some goose leather and begins his project.
6th Opal 'Svenpa's mysterious construction is finished. A marble ring, â€The Paper of Romanceâ€, worth 56400 dorfbucks. Encrusted, encircled and adorned with gems. On the item is an image of Rith Orbarm the dwarf in goose leather. Rith Orbarm is falling. The artwork relates to the collision of the dwarf Rith Orbarm with an obstacle in Carnagefountains in the midautumn of 253. 'Svenpa' becomes a legendary stonecrafter.
Svenpa and Scythe both have two legendary skills. Svenpa's second legendary skill is wood burning. Scythes legendary skills are carpentry and mechanics. Monkfish is a legendary miner and lolf is a legendary woodcutter.
Oh, and the event the artwork related to. I made a contraption to drop useless dwarves 2 z-levels to give Dr. 'sherpa' something to do. Unfortunately the drop can be lethal and 1-level-fall only stuns dwarves. Anyways, now he's a talented diagnostician, competent wound dresser and bone doctor, skilled suturer and adequate surgeon.
Heh, dwarf fell down. What do you mean it wasn't that funny? Luckily the physician was there, again and again and again.
Lolf, we share the same burning hatred for everything with too much fiber. I could never have come this far without the never-ending supply you provided. Now go. Slay that dragon! Burning stuff is *my* job.
Edit: It was a dragon, how am I even reading this?
[edit] I have this brilliant idea. Click here.
Year 4 15th Slate A dragon arrives. 'lolfighter' is doing his thing, murdering trees near the edge of the zone. The dragon immediately spots 'lolfighter', who is for some reason wearing only tattered clothes and a wooden training axe. A race back into the fort ensues. At first 'lolfighter' appears to be able to maintain his distance with the dragon, but then it belches out a giant torrent of magical fire. 'lolfighter' is caught at the very edge of the blast, not able to dive out of the way in time. He catches fire, but still makes an attempt to head for the fort. The magical fire burns with intensity that can only be matched by his tree-murdering fervor. The others are well on their way into the fort, and the smoke conceals the following events from all witnesses.
Hearing the death-cry of the dragon, the dwarves unbar the gates and emerge to see what's come of the surrounding lands. They discover the corpse of a dragon, huge tracts of land burned to ashes. No trace of 'lolfighter' was ever discovered. That's where the legends began...
After single-handedly defeating the legions of the tree-dragon, the dastardly creature finally decided to show its face. Having saved the mountainhome from the fearsome woodbeast, I now wander the world, fighting lumbermonsters wherever they rear their ugly, elf-pleasing heads.
