How are sales going?

At one point I remember there being a comment on the number of pre-orders and the (rather high) proportion that went for the more expensive option. Does anyone know the current total sales volume and roughly how many were to each region? I thought it might be quite interesting to see a broad indication of how much traction the game has had so far in various countries.

Quoted for truth.
Or they just didn't use that switch.
What really dissapoints me is that maybe 15k copies have been sold but the highest number of players I saw were around 70.
UWE should send a little christmas mail with a little reminder about the new NS2 to all who bought the game.
I am sure alot forgot about NS2 since july 2010!

I'm sure UWE is doing fine, however, many users are still on the side lines waiting for improved performance and additional content to be implemented. However, most of the NS1 players that made NS2 a possibility will probably not be seen consistently playing NS2 until additional skill based systems are implemented within NS2. I have faith that 2012 will be the year for NS2, so stay tuned and be prepared for an amazing year! :)
of which 20k are the alpha sales and 7k or 8k the beta sales, so there are like 2000 keys left for the open beta.
but this number is 1 or 2 month old.
...sadly, I can't find the threat to proove what I've written. (and -.. to be honest, I am to lazy to do a deep search) It was a post of cory as far as I remember.
He told us that they have sold over 30,000+ copies of NS2.

That means at peaktimes 0,2% of users that own the game realy play it. Tier 3 will change the numbers alot and all the other (still planed?) features like Alien pheromones, teleport for buildings, phantasm and more.
To bad X3:AP keeps me busy flying around in space but I need a break from summit and play some more complex games or when no players are online or only US/AUS servers.

I imagine too that once NS2 is available on steam, or even advertised on steam, the number will be even higher
I can't imagine that Natural Selection will not be THE Steam-headline of the day on its release date.
The best way to start off NS2 could be a free weekend.
Absolutely true. Seeing as it is a multiplayer game, NS2 has nothing to lose by going free for a short time at introduction. The free weekend has been very effective recently with Nuclear Dawn, as well as Brink.
