Upgrade: Hive sight shows player health

I think a cool upgrade for aliens would be a modified hive sight that shows the health of the enemy. There would be a different colour of hive sight depending on their health - Green = 3 bites required, Amber = 2 bites, Red = 1 bite. This way aliens would be able to capitalize on marines with low hp and prioritize targets.

For marines that are in view they could have a coloured outline that changes colour based on their health (e.g. L4D style).

    +1

This sounds just like scent of fear from back in the NS 1.04 days.

I like that idea: a mutation you can buy when evolving

Can we have it work on teammates (and buildings that are under attack) too?

I'm more for yellow, orange, red. Green means 'is friendly' to me

It can be hard to tell the difference between those in the heat of battle.

This is maybe a little bit away from normal convention when it comes to indicator colors, but perhaps blue - purple - red? in a gradient transition from high to low health of course.
It keeps them distinct from each other and still keeps the usual cold to hot color direction people are familiar with for health in games.

makes sense, since blue is anyway the marine color

this idea must be adapted into alien vision, not scent of fear ability. This way aliens can view every marine based on green/yellow/red colors, and know which one to focus on.

While scent of fear acts like motion tracking for aliens, being able to see marines through walls. (like parasite)

current hive sight = scent of fear (not sure if people know this)

If you want to combine these two abilities that's different story.
