So i take it UWE doesnt like to play aliens, consent nerfing on the alien side while the marines are progressively getting more and more stronger with their tech.
Fade does NOT need another energy draining slow attack, they have one already.
Lerk is no longer a lerk, LMAO, 10 meters are you guys kidding me? You cant even get with in 30 meters of a rine squad before fired upon. The flamer still shoots through anything and burns so randomly making it nearly impossible for a lerk to get close enough and survive, You are just asking for a shotgun blast and some flames when having to so obviously fly close to these marines. As far as CQC for the lerk goes, its atrocious, where is the bite and umbra (side note umbra should extinguish flames). Not having energy to do anything because you've been flamed and are burning for a ridiculous amount of time, yeah that's balanced good work.
Just because the fade has a god like blink now shouldn't mean the rest of the alien team needs to suffer from stronger guns.
Everyone complains the fade is to good it can kill thousands of marines.. big deal they raped marines in NS and they are here to rape them again in NS2. One shotgun marine can kill a fade, its all a mater of skill. Even with these supposed nerfs to the fade I am still able to maintain a 20 to 1 kdr. What ppl do not realize is that this is very much a team game and they need to work together. Fades need gorge and lerk just as much as marines need flamers and shotguns. Taking away the lerks only advantage of range is a HUGE game play nerf, please consider the name of the alien, Lerk, and adjust it accordingly. Rushing into marines with a new noisy flight is not what they need to be doing.
If this is what the alien team is becoming than I think I want a refund..

Yup. In fact, since we hate playing as aliens, patch 181 is actually going to have the alien team removed, and replaced with marines in gorilla suits. We figured no one would mind.

Im ok with your balancing. even its not perfect. my only worries are that you spend to much time in balancing to make the game somewhat playable only to have it rebalanced again as soon as a new feature is implemented :-/. I trust you. You know what your doing. Im just worried.

The issue with this patch is you didn't need to play aliens to see cysts were awful, you could play marines once and absolutely dominate them. I've never seen a UWE employee playing NS2 (in the last couple of weeks at least) so I'm assuming that the only play time they get is when they're doing playtesting, which I think doesn't really count.
Since everyone likes playing marines the way they are currently, how about that Marines vs Marines mod?

Yes, we have decided to replace DI with something I call "static surfaces". Instead of placing DI, the alien commander has the option of pressing a button and looking at the floor for a bit.

Yeah people have a habit of assuming balanced = good game.
Coin flips are balanced, but they aren't much fun.
Balance is often a part of good games, but aiming for balance is kind of like building a house out of bricks and aiming for it to be red, rather than aiming for it to be a house.

Are players seriously that much of kill ######s that when an alien (Fade, who they are obviously STILL working on) can't decimate an entire team solo anymore, they resort to start crying on the boards? If so please for the sake of us and the community go play something else.
Honestly UWE as far as taking suggestions and input from the community goes, when it comes to balance just block us all out. After reading these boards I am convinced the majority of people that log in here have absolutely no idea what BALANCE is or how its achieved.
It's common sense people, Aliens had the advantage, so the last two patches upped the marines, now the marines have the slight advantage so the next patches will focus on bringing the aliens back up and etc. until they are CLOSE enough, in a game like this you can never have 1:1 because individual player skill is a huge factor that can't be programmed.
I mostly quote it when people make unsubstantiated claims of balance (see thread title) that are easily contradicted by the data. If marines were 'stacked' then we'd at least expect them to win more than 50% of the time. Though, it looks like marine wins are up to 47%, so it looks like the last patch really did improve balance quite a bit.
Also, I suspect balancing on a non-feature complete game makes it easier. For example, UWE can introduce new content (e.g. cysts) and then collect data (win %) to gauge how (if at all) it affected balance. Then they have a much better idea, supported by data rather than anecdotes, of which features affect the gameplay the most.

what an immature post, shouldn't you be mentioning how your gonna be balancing it out a bit in the next patch, instead of we are bringing in more marine stuff and reducing your framerates.
Well since you know so much about how to deal with idiots as a game developer, why don't you go make your own game instead of joining the (seemingly) growing crowd of morons who complain about every little move UWE makes without even bothering to consider the possible positive ramifications if said actions?
