just an update on my teleporter room. right now the actual teleporter is placed outside our complex. at some point we will see if it looks better when its placed inside the complex. For the phase gate you first need to make a copy of the phase_gate.model and phase_gate.animation_graph files. Rename them to something else. Then open up the copy in viewer and load it's animation graph. You need to edit it so that when idle it will play the correct open animation. Change spawn animation to idle, and then change "death, alive == true" and "deploy, built == true". Save and then go into the editor and add it as a prop_dynamic. Make sure you select your new model and not the regular pg. This should give you an open pg in the world that you can use how you wish.
If you want to add in the cool blue pg effect, just add the phase gate cinematic.
You'll need to include your new model files when distributing the map.
There might be a better way to reference animations directly using prop_dynamic but I couldn't figure it out.

hey some dude dl the map ns2_rigging_b020 i didnt know that auto download is released so i didnt have a password when trying something out, plz who ever dl the map delet it again !!! its not playable anyways. my fault

Somethings look awesome like that huge blue pool with all the pipes above it, and the one you posted above, all very cool. There are other parts that aren't as impressive...they've got that feeling if being boxes with stuff placed inside instead of that crafted, architectural look in the better parts of your map.
Thanks for the feedback guys! we really appreciate it, due to our massive mapping time we put into this project. Squart mentioned at some point that he is up to 400 hours just mapping for this map. He just bought ns2 for being able to map for it.
during our development we improved in so many ways and on so many levels, regarding, prop placement, complex geometry, light adjustment and proper texture and sound selection that it may be that older parts of our map are not as good as the newer ones, thats the reason why we deleted 4 finished rooms and redone them completely.
Actually we would have finished the map already, if we havent redone most of the map.
All in all we have worked on it for maybe 650 hours already and i fear, that in the end, nobody in playing it. What are the chances for that? Chances would be good, if you havent done a wrong decision on the layout. In b160 it was crucial that Marines expand on other techpoints, you need a completely new layout for that. A map could look awesome as hell and nobody would play it due to balance issues, but its fun for us to work on such a project, so it wont kill us if nobody plays it in the end.
@ Alibi: we will adjust the lights in the ready room at some point, thanks :)
@ Peregrinus: we are aware of that, that some places need a rework as well. we changed mapping styles. we tried greyboxing and reworking (thats not the way we work effeciently) and thats why some parts are still more like textured old greybox areas then anything else.
we are curious regarding the annotions in our first beta to see which parts are good as they are and which parts dont

I don't think you have to fear that people won't be playing your map. There are not too many official maps on the way, and I expect custom maps to get the playtime they deserve once map downloading is in. Don't worry! From what I can see from the layout and screens, this could end up being a popular competetive map as well.

Can somebody help us with this?
We want to place a phase gate prop in the Ready room as joining locations, but ingame the pg is not build, just the small box of it.
Do we have to wait for an option for phase gate entity with the option to set it on "already build" or can we work arround the issue here somehow?
