Congrats on hitting 1.0! I guess that means we will see release in 1 or 2 weeks? Hopefully this last patch is a big one, with all kinds of optimisation, gameplay and balance fixes that put the game up to a level where it will truly shine on release day.
That being said, I'm sure the release is going to be great success, brings in A TON of new players and I'm definitely excited to see where NS 2 is heading next.
Might be stepping on the toes of the big holiday releases a bit perhaps? I'm not really sure how these big release periods work in the states, but it seems like they are gearing up for an October 1st release.

Looks on schedule for late October to me. Only thing that makes me doubt October 31 is the last Q&A, with Charlie talking about a release day party and a 10 year anniversary party like they were seperate things.

Oh sweet. Last time I was on Ausns2 (when monash went down) it was really struggeling with a full server, I think noGG has downed their limit now (was 24?). Hopefully be able to give it a shot this weekend
Please don't get confused between server performance and 32 tickrate bug. When people are jittery / teleporting all over the place, type net_stats 1 and check the tickrate. If it doesn't fluctuate between 29-32 then it has the bug.

Thats quite amusing because some of those servers you list, when they're full are quite horrible due to jittery player movements really makes it not worth playing when aliens are warping all over your screen.
@codeine... tick rate bug, not server performance is the issue there. Monash doesn't experience those problems cause endar monitors them like an absolute hawk and restarts them when they need it.
Always knew endar was a hawk! But yes it's nice to have full access to the server so he can restart it / tweak it whatever, you don't get that kind of power with the hypernia servers?
Anyway, hopefully get some nice admin / server toys on release with NS2.

That server tickrate bug of 32 or 28.44, aka the Patriot bug, has a fix that has been checked in for next patch, I believe Max mentioned this in the Q & A this week. One of our servers tonight had this bug and the map change didnt even fix it.. very excited for 221.
