some questions before buy NS2

zoro.czzoro.cz Join Date: 2011-05-21 Member: 99873Members
hello, I have some questions, I would be glad if you will answer me :)
1) Can I buy a NS2 via steam, not paypal?
2) If I buy it now, can i play now(asking because of there was a special version)?
3) How many servers are there with real ppl?
4) Do I need HL2 for this game(I know that NS2 has self engine but its better to make sure myself)?

thanks for answering, and sorry for my english.

    1) no. It's not in the Steam Store, yet, and probably won't be until it is out of beta state. However you can use PayPal without logging in/creating a PayPal account (click "check out", not "check out using PayPal") and pay with any Credit Card supported by PayPal.
    2) yes. You will receive an email with an acivation code (hopefully instantly, I've heard of some people having problems/having to wait for the mail but it worked for me). The special version was for people that already wanted to play the alpha version (it's in beta now).
    3) look <a href="http://play4dead.com/ns2/index.php?servers=1" target="_blank">here</a>.
    4) no.

It's OK so far, though it's straying away from NS1's greatness.

Hey Zoro, glad you are joining us. Please keep in mind the game is still not in a finished state, so it will not be as polished and smooth as NS1. But we are constantly adding, updating, and fixing it with weekly or biweekly patches, and there's a lot of fun new additions getting added to the game over the next little while.

from what I hear from the public design documents, they seem to use a lot of phrases like:

...to be closest yet to NS1...
...should be exactly the same as NS1...
    ...equal to competitive 6v6 NS1...
"What would be the real difference between NS1 and NS2?"...
    ...(ala NS1)...
...- Gorge could heal himself in NS1... Allowing Gorge to heal him/herself in NS2...
    ...ala NS1...
    ...as in NS1...
    ...Use same values as NS1...

    I could go on further....

    Hey with that NS2 Server list - <a href="http://play4dead.com/ns2/index.php?servers=1" target="_blank">http://play4dead.com/ns2/index.php?servers=1</a>
How come I can't see my server on there? :/
Do you need to get someone to put it on there? or Have I done something wrong?

    I think you need the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=112026" target="_blank">GmOvrmind </a>plugin?

Ah yes just checking on it now.. In the System Requirements it says you need NS2.
What about the servers that don't run NS2 but just the hldsupdatetools ?

i think ns2 will simply be "better" than ns1 once its done. and i hope this doesnt turn out to be false :)

Why would you expect a server that doesn't run NS2 to appear in the NS2 server list? Besides GmOvrmnd isn't required to be displayed on the list, only if you want additional info (currently server tickrate and installed build) to be displayed.

So I have only Euro on my Paypal and added the Euros ONLY becose I need to buy this game

So does the Euro to Dollar convert automatically

Or do I need to stress this ###### <b>out for few days

Paypal or your bank will convert money for you, you'll always pay the correct amount in Euros, but the correct amount in Dollars will be debited from your account.

In other words, don't stress, just buy. It's ok :-)

AFAIK PayPal is showing you the exact rate of exchange and the final price in € before you confirm your payment.
