I click on the game in my list on steam and all i see is my icon on the lower right highlight is green then back to blue and thats it.

I dont care about fixing this now but i just wanted to let you guys know that you did something that made it not work for me.

Could be a corrupt patch, try verifying the files and as a last resort reinstall...

Perhaps you could also post the last created log file in the following folder, it might reveal some more stuff for the devs

    %appdata%\Natural Selection 2

And maybe have a look at the config.xml (notepad) to see if there's something odd in there. I'm not sure if a de-install of NS replace that one with a fresh copy...

I don't think uninstalling it removes anything from %appdata% so I would delete that file manually and see if it makes any difference.

just open the explorer and write %appdata% as path and hit enter.
Then look for a folder called Natural Selection 2.

PS: Just wondering if he is using Windows XP, was there a appdata folder too? Or did it save the stuff somewhere else? I cant remember my XP times :P (or at least didnt need insight to this folder that days)

Umm i did this and no there is no natural selection 2 folder but!!!!

I think i may have found the problem. I went into steam and clicked on the exe and this poped up!

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click OK to terminate the application.

Now i googled it but it seems like it is caused by many weird thingys and other programs. So any clues?

You seriously do not have this folder?

    C:\Documents and Settings\brandon\Application Data\Natural Selection 2

I find this quite weird and puzzling at the same time

Could it be you need to run launchpad first before starting NS2 to have it create this folder and files? Not likely, but worth a try...

The easiest way would be to let someone here on your pc via teamviewer to check it out before you try this... because i cant understand whats wrong on your pc.
