I've heard mumblings that it might damage Al Qaeda. The guy most likely to take command is nowhere near as well liked or charismatic as bin Laden was, and this could weaken the organisation. Doesn't solve anything, but I'm sure nobody will be sad to see them struggling.
Pakistan is angry that the U.S. did this on their own, within Pakistan. At the same time they've got egg on their face what with bin Laden having hidden inside Pakistan, close to a military academy. Will be interesting to see what comes of that, if anything. Also, if this disrupts al Qaeda's tightening grip on Pakistan, that's a good thing at least.
I thought it was pretty well known, even if your government body doesn't state as such on their "lost and found" criminal page.

That video was debunked the same day...thought everyone knew that as well. It was clearly not Osama who was in that vid, as they originally meant.

So they spent 10 years on finding him? Osama will now go to the history as one of the greatest hide and seek players of all time. Not to mention that he trolled usa quite sucessfully.
Terrorists are just like trolls, they do it for the attention. And I have never seen anyone feed trolls better than USA, announcing a war on terrorism just to highlight the issues the terrorists fight for, which makes it a valid tactic to spread a message. Way to go usa!
I dont get why people care...
Sortof-Offtopic: Anyone heard of the suicide bombing attempt here in sweden a few months ago? Guy blows up himself, but fails at killing anyone, and doesnt deal more damage than a few scratches on ppl (he blew up a few steps from his intended location). I chuckle everytime I think of it, I thought the idea of suicidebombing was to ensure maximum damage, not to make sure you died yourself. And I cant even remember why he did it :S.

I hope for your sake you're not avoiding a ban signing up as a second name, but for humours sake, I'll entertain this one.
I've seen articles, quotes, interviews, people actually celebrating not only the death of another human being, but rejoicing that they think it's as significant as if people were able to build a house on the moon. It's really not. In the grand scheme of things, since time has passed since Bush' official "war on terror" slogan, the global scale of terrorism, which particularly comes from Bin Laden's extremist Muslim arm, has only been minorly affected. If anything, this will spur a Muslim extremist move further; as Britain has warned its own people today.
I don't see what is wrong about being real about things.

I somewhat looked into this. If you go to the whitehouse website and download the PDF file that is supposed to be the original, you can open it in illustrator and find that the background is separated from the black outline. A white outer glow of the font is burned the background print with the two ink layers above it.
I discussed this with bashh for a while ago, I'm thinking this is due to a high-end scanner/fax machine that the hospital may use. Expensive scanners/fax machines can pick out ink/dark lines from paper and make the area around the text white so that the quality stays readable when scanned reprinted repeatedly, so its probably just a software filter.

I started to see where Caca came from, I mean we do all conform to some sort of national stereotype on the whole, where ever we are. Although, that's just too far.
While I would have prefferd Bin Ladin to be locked in a room with flesh eating bacteria for the rest of his days, I'll settle for his death. I dont like anyone dying at the hands of another human being, but considering his crimes I'll let this go this once.

You can kill Jesus but you can't kill Christianity.
You can kill Bin Laden but you can't kill Muslim extremism.

Sorry no. Betting successfully on a horse race and running successfully in a horse race are two different things.
