Maybe because it's tram tunnels? ;)

i would rage if comcast tried to pull something like that in america. instead they just deliver crappy service to everyone during peak bandwidth usage.

Because each of the maps are quite different from one another, in size, layout and theme. As development has moved on, it's been really interesting to see how different the look each map has become while still using the same art set. A lot of the really huge rooms in the concepts are in the Refining map (including the lerks and lava falls one). In fact some of the rooms have turned out -too- big, and I'm now having to pull them in a bit.

A lot of the props and map screenshots are from when NS2 was still on the source engine. So if you ever wondered what it looked like, there you go.

Thanks for all the great comments, guys. Glad you like the concept art. There's a lot more that was created but I've just been too busy to print it out, and we haven't really figured out a great solution for hanging it all up around the office.

Once the game is released and all that fun stuff you should totally make a Natural Selection 2 artbook that people could buy.

actually, if you guys wouldn't mind whipping up some wallpaper, it would solve my current TF2 Halloween desktop problem.

We have actually talked about the possibility of doing this at some point. It's so far off right now that we haven't gone much further than "that would be a cool thing to do", but it would be great if we could pull it off.
