    The early MAC concept art was new to me, and the refinery map concept with all those lerks. Notice that one lerk is shown attacking a marine with it's feet.

    Man, Cory - you're a bloody damn cool artist! Great work on all of these, you really capture the whole feeling of the NS Universe perfect!
    I really hope there will be an Artbook someday, will be instant buy!

    This might be a good marketing idea.
    Just upload theese concept arts on Deviant Art or open a fan shop or so and selling them as a poaster like we saw in the video.
    I think that will produce some extra cash for UWE..... Also Charlies UWE t-shirt and ....maybe the black armor ingame (*_*)

    okay btt.
    It's just awesome to see their buro and all the people working there.
    Now you can really see how much of an effort it is to develop the game.

    A fan shop would be a good idea later when they have more time. Maybe that PR person they want to recruit could set up a shop selling posters/t shirts/figurines. Would posters alone make a big profit?

    Personally I would be more interested in buying things for in game use like cool armor designs for marines and aliens (not stuff like hats that would ruin the atmosphere). For the choice of different marine armor to use in game I'd pay maybe $5 at most which would have to give me a new awesome armor (not just a different color) but id still want to be able to play with my current black one sometimes.

    Theyre not really hard up for cash though are they. I saw ads for a programmer and the promotional/events guy. When NS2 goes on steam they'll make a heap of cash :)

    The only concepts that are really new to me are the early mac scetches, the marine helmet / no helmet concept and the map scetch above of the skulk-in-a-vent picture. Oh and the armslab and the "phase gate" from the "meet" vdeo ofc. Almost every other concept shown in this video has been shown by UW at some point :)
    (The refinery/lerk picture concept was pictured in a NS2 preview in pcgamer. Somebody scanned this article and posted it here.)

    Nice work as always, Hough. Looking forward for the next vdeo :)


    btw i like the other mac concepts. They are all great.

    I think the art direction of NS2 is superb. All those concepts looked great.

    Those builder bot sketches are amazing. Some of them looked cooler than the current model. I think it would be cool to have different bots which are suited towards different tasks. Or like an upgrade.

    UWE needs to partner with Gerber. Slap an NS2 logo on it and I'd buy it.

    Haha yes I've landed. I'm really sorry that video screwed up guys! I'm loading all my footage (endless hours of it) to my desktop now. Once that's done I will set about replacing 118... and adding 119! Editing with 6 cores again should be mercifully quick.

    its like you guys are a product of my subconscious and you're able to give me cool things that I wanted that I didnt even know about :)

    You can also tell in the storyboard that the part after the establishing zoom shot where the Fade turns around and blinks away was cut and replaced with the security camera shot. This was to add a little bit more suspense at the action packed full reveal of the Fade when he charges in through the door.

    But yea, that one panel at the top left of page 5 ended up turning into about 8 new shots! Otherwise the storyboard remained mostly intact.

    I'm noticing a lot of the concept art shows really large and spacious rooms, even the hallways seem either wide or tall. Why does tram feel so claustrophobic?

    Awesome job.

    Just to point out though...I don't mean to be picky haha. The concept art of the alien eye is actually a Fade I believe. Only lifeform with black skin in NS1.
    As well as from 118, the last few concept art pieces you point out, one of them is Marine Start on Tram.

    I still envy you so much for being able to visit the team. Good work and keep it up!

    its really amazing to see all of the stuff UWE have done and never had time to show - you don't realise how much work and time they put into making NS2 until you see these videos. and how talented and professional they are.
