The key to winning is to make your marines more moving than aliens are. Rambos are great example here, they are like dummies for alien team. Each skulk wants to kill that lmg-hero on chemical and eventually he has the courage to rush him alone... we have one dead skulk and 1-3 more in comm chair. This happens so many times, just get your marines out of secured areas.
One good Tip here is to place one PG in some complete strange place on between two hives, sure it is going to be taken down sooner or later but still you have had many rines to phase in middle of two hives and eventually the wander to siege/hive location. Often that one lonely PG wont even get bitten due aliens are busy on left and right due people keep coming to hives.
And yes getting MT in pub games is not bad idea. Thing you need to get MT work at start in pub game is someone who gets you RT`s if you know you have one guy who goes for the RT`s only. Definitely one should go for MT then because from around 4minutes you allways know where aliens are and what they do. No bigger advatange than that.
yup MT is surprisingly effective in pub games - gives the marines confidence i guess. marines also LOVE to ninja pg whenever they have MT, and never so when i don't tho only trouble i had with MT is that when i only see one blip in the hive, i usually go ahead and try to sneak in anyway. then when i get there it sucks to find an onos staying in hive trying to heal and he just comes and devours me
I've always been a fan of getting Motion Traking as quick as I can. It lets the whole team know right where aliens are moving at all times. Now people can get cocky and forget about aliens dropping on them from a vent, but it does help to see them coming ahead of time. I play in pub servers and I find it helps in the opening moves of a game if I have the res to spare. There's a long list I could put in here but I haven't been playing in a long time and I'm getting back in to it now. Recently I've noticed games are much shorter and lerks and fades are showing up in no time at all which is a big change. When i get some more tips I can put in I will.
I'm a fan of PGs first, hopefully accompanied with Armor 1. Being able to get around those maps is very, very helpful. It's the only way to counter the fact that aliens move much MUCH faster than your rines.
I also enjoy those rare moments of weird ninjas. One of my buds like to ninja random "strategic" places. Sometimes it's really helpful. Sometimes it's really stupid and I yell at him. Other times it's a tf from the opposite side of the other siege location already setup, for the same hive. It's hilarious to watch a bunch of skulks rush that location too just to take him down, and sometimes with an hmg he can hold them off too.
Basically, everyone should start thinking like a comm, that helps the team be more nimble and take initiative.
I used to get PGs then armor 1, but I found that despite gaining early map control I was always more likely to lose in the end. Unless your marines are really owning and you have res pouring in (in which case it doesn't matter what you do) the delay in A1, then W1 etc. is costly.
And communicate, that is the number 1 thing to do. If you sunk near a hive say hey comm PG me, more than likly they will, and tell them where you are also. Try not to use the ingame ones becuaes it will also alert the aliens.

I usually end up with people who complain that I don't electrify enough. And we're talking about electrifying EVERYTHING. =]
