Seems like ATI > Nvidia up to now. Who knows why.

Here Q9450 2.6 Ghz, 4GiB RAM, Nvidia 285 GTX at 50 +/- 25 fps.

high (2560x1600) = 10-20 FPS on my new water cooled quad SLI GTX 295, Intel i7 975@3.5, 12 GB RAM system...

I can run Crysis at highest possible settings(2560x1600) with 40-60, FFS! Spark engine just rips my PC a new one :P Hope this gets worked out...

I don't know what happened but suddenly my fps went through the roof. It's now 60-120 instead of 60-80 on high and 75-120 on medium.

I didn't really do anything except installed the DM mod courtesy of #ns2devs

The random framerate drops and minor freezes are still there though.
I've noticed that these usually happen when I'm going around a corner to a big space or to a space with practice dummies or players.

Too many players or dummies also seem to cut my fps down pretty fast. This applies even when I can't see them and stare at a wall.

My Specs again if someone missed them:

CPU: e8400 @ 3,8GHz
Motherboard: Asus P5K Pro
Memory: 2x2GB A-Data DDR2
GFX Card: 8800GTS 512MB
OS: W7 Ultimate x32
Drivers: Forceware 196.21
Resolution: 800x600

Anyone have any idea how to get SLI running on this thing? it makes the game run worse when on and it causes massive stuttering. Anyone have any look with Ntune?

My guess is that its a low priority to get a working SLI profile included in the game. So for now we'll probably just have to live with a stuttery low FPS mess. But thats ok, the point is that it renders on our hardware, which is valuable info for the devs.

Just remember they decided to go down the deferred rendering path whilst it is sm2 compatible which means heaps of graphics cards can run it to get reasonable FPS in a deferred render at minimum you need a 8800 series graphic's card or equivalent.

Anything older will run crap because the hardware back then was never designed with this type of rendering task in mind.

Guys, don't use r_stats, it will actually drop your FPS. :p

We got a topic on ENSL aswell for anyone interested.

Uh that's pretty disengenuous. Games have been "going down" the deferred rendering path for a long time. In fact, it's pretty much the only way to go for any sort of modern graphics programming task. Next you'll be telling us that the NS2 team made a huge mistake by not using the fixed-function pipeline? Because man, some older cards just don't handle shaders well.

Give me a break. The FPS issues being reported don't even back up your thesis. Some people who have great hardware are still getting terrible FPS; the problems are obviously driver/vendor-specific. They'll be fixed in time. Quit being a dip######, nothing about deferred rendering is responsible for any of the crap going on right now. It being a PRE-ALPHA HARDWARE TEST probably has a lot to do with it.
