not time consuming =/= simple. UV mapping can be very difficult.

That's because it isn't simple...I explained to you a few posts up that UV mapping isn't a time consuming process when you actually <i>learn</i> the tools. That was directed at you and your feelings of how 3D applications handle UVW. You then said "<i><b>If you think UVW is simple</b>, I'm sure you're also a valuable employee...</i>". I went on to clarify that just because something isn't time consuming that doesn't make it simple, hence the use of "=/=" (which means <b>doesn't equal</b>).
So, again, UVW mapping is not a simple process. It's not "easy" to do. It gets more difficult the more complex the object is that you're unwrapping. But it's not a time consuming process when you learn the tools and techniques, something which I don't believe you did before you decided to say that UVW mapping "sucks balls".

I'm not asking for mutual respect, but not telling your peers to l2p should be somewhat of common sense. You'd think that if one weren't familiar with the tools of the trade they would be complaining about possibility at all, not time investment. Intuitiveness and utility remains an issue on both levels, however.
There's a good reason Spark exists: there are many similar tools in the industry that can generate high-quality output, but very few render the creation so intuitive and fluid - indeed, I believe, this is what made UE3 the most licensed engine of this generation - and all these tools were known as unintuitive from day 1, they were never built with such things in mind. Likewise, I have to doubt the optimisation of most unwrapping software both because there's little expressed need for an intuitive unwrapper and because of the amounts of hoops you have to jump through.
Of course the original point was me asking whether or now UWE also bothered creating their own unwrapping tools, because to me (and I'm sure many others) that would be a godsend.
No as said before, Each app for modeling has its own built in tools for UVs. And there are many plugins available too. Mapping does not require UVs, only props.
I may have come off a bit snobbish, and for that I apologize. I saw your response, which I sincerely felt was not based on your personal experience, and felt compelled to call you out on it in a less than approachable manner. No hard feelings.
