They aren't going to PAX, they pulled out of going to that as the cost and time that would be lost in preparing and going to it is better spent on game dev.

I am actually quite surprised at the size of the room, since I expected maps to be smaller in a way.

Anyway, looks awesome guys :D. I love the atmosphere.
But as some people have been stating (with rather captious remarks as usual ^_^) those guarding rails do not comply with the <a href="http://www.osha.gov" target="_blank">Occupational Safety and Health Administration</a>'s regulations regarding safeguarding equipment and protecting employees from amputation. You should be utterly ashamed for not familiarising yourself with safeguarding of rotating equipment in a working environment. This is unacceptable, I think you should redo it.

    Yeah, me as well.
    Actually the room is huge!

But as been mention before, the ingame map might not look the same.

Yes i love digsiege_fnl and this is exactly that, mostly :P. My mouth waters at all the user-created dig-siege-type maps that will spawn as a result of this map :D

When I look at that, I get this feeling its about 5 seconds before the skulks arrive and wipe them out. Bring on the 'rines!

To bad about PAX but a good decision. The room might only be look and feel and not an actual room in a map.

Suddenly something is weird with this discussion in my browser. All the post ar minimized into a "post tree". I'm not sure if I clicked anything. But the Option button on top doesn't work for me. Hmm seems to be some other feeds to. Weird. Maybe it's just my blurry morning eyes. Sorry for going of topic.

    [Edit]

    Thanks PhiXX

I was thinking the exact same thing. It dosnt need to be fully operational but it should make a difference if the power grid is active or not in that room. that drill looks waaaaaaaaay too badass to just be a dead prop in the background.

    nice concept art...

    BRING ON THE INGAME SCREENSHOTS!

This is the only relevant request i have seen. 22" widescreen monitors are pretty standard.

1440x512 and 195421x5318512 are not. Edit the photo yourself...

Environment concepts like these are mostly to generate theme ideas and prop ideas for a room/area, and convey a sense of atmosphere. I try to give a fair amount of thought to layout based on gameplay considerations, however final layout and room size, etc., are all subject to change in the mapping stage. This room will not be quite as vast as depicted in the concept, however, it will still be quite large, as it is a central focal point of the map.

Sorry if we didn't hit all the desired resolution sizes. Next time around we'll try to have a few more options.

No Problem for me, i have gotten used to have 1920x1200 wallpaper when i run HD 1920x1080 (1080p).

But yeah HD supported size would be nice..
  • JAmazonJAmazon Join Date: 2009-02-21 Member: 66503Members
Cory, might I suggest you guys release more high-res wallpapers next time around? I'm not just saying that because I'm running 2560x1600 but because I'm fairly certain that you lose less detail in scaling down from a high res than from scaling up a low res. So starting off with releasing super high-res is a win win as anyone with a lower res can scale down without getting a blurry picture.

    Deadline?
Dont you dare release the game before its 100% ready, nothing can kill a game more then a unfinish one, released in a crapy alpha version!
Take the blizzard standart to hart and release when its ready to be released, and not a secund earlyer..
Ill rather wait another year then seeing NS2 be a flop becouse its full of bugs and other crappy stuff...

deadlines are good, because they make you work harder. I'm sure they would push the game back if it wasn't ready.
