Show me where in the agreement it says you are getting the game on the time of release they specified...
EDIT: Also the suggestion of a lawsuit to make them code faster? You realise they would have to take time OUT of development to defend the lawsuit?

For the Northern Hemisphere, as in the United States, Canada and most of Europe, Fall begins on September 22, 2009 at 5:18 pm EDT.

The press kit ( for the investor(s) ) says Fall but in another section it says fourth quarter which means anytime from October to December. I think we all agree it would best if they released something on Halloween for sentimental reasons.

The team give around about 100x more information and are doing a lot more PR work with their own community than any other team has done for a retail game.

On light of that if I were the team I'd now give you guys nothing, because you're all whining like a bunch of no named babies in an orphanage.

The whiny fanboys already gave around about more money than any other community in the current state of a retail game.

Anyway..I agree that it's just silly to whine around and get impatient.

For nostalgia, I would hope for the alpha on Hallowe'en, and then a beta for christmas and the full release in the spring.

Now I know nothing about coding, but I'd have thought that the benefit of LUA coding (for easy gameplay changes) would be offset by having to make the game work on all systems. I mean, we all have different O/S and hardware combinations and I reckon it's a PITA for a new engine to be bug free on most systems. Again- emphasising I know nothing about coding so could be talking out of my bum!

We have piles of models/textures/animations finished that we haven't shown off yet, since just to do a simple blog post like the armory is still a significant amount of time that is a distraction from working on the game. The armory concept/model/texture were done at the end of last year, we just hadn't had a chance to show it off yet.

And the other assumption, that things like maps can't be developed concurrently with the art assets, is also false. We already have plenty of textures/props to start mapping with, and even without those you can begin layout design, greyboxing, and rough block in stuff on a map.

No worries, soon they're running out of lifeforms to reveal! After that they've only got about 10 marine buildings and a few guns left.

are you nuts? they got the alpha running, they said. i paid for it and dont get it.
they dont got time to make these cool reveal movies and so on?
who the ###### needs them? release the alpha and players will do tons of such movies
wich u can find easiely on youtube.

what the ###### i paid for?

there is no trolling - there is only pure anger!

i mean, wtf should i think if i see pics like that?

if the whole team holding up one simple paper together,
ich the words THANK YOU on it, okay,
but holding the MONEY up and looking like horney appes
    reminds me on cspromod.com ...

i mean its not like duke nukem forever,
but i didnt have PAYED! for the alpha.
im not interessted in spending hours of playing with grey boxes,
but i want to start it, take a look at it and so on.

why do you think are leaked games so popular on torrent sites?
do you think thats all marketing? :D - no there are realy interessted
    ppl in it!

and the greatest hipes where always about these games, wich where
leaked in an early state, but still playable.
    best example: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
what could you do there, running running running :D
then there was a second and a third leak.
then the game was two times sold two times changed two times delayed
and ended up in a bunch of crap ^^

but all ppl i know, who played the leaked alpha, wanted this game sooo bad!

think about counterstrike beta versions, this was what made counterstrike so popular!

its a important pice of my gaming history... you dant have to understand this,
but the first time in my life i had the chance to realy pay some dev team more
for this, then my attention! i had the official possibility to support them and
get the game in alpha state,... but what happend?
they release money slobbering pictures and nothing more.
at the end they are whining about that the dont got time because
we forece em to show us what they have in peto.

there is no official statement WHY there is no alpha for us.
there is no official statement to the progress of the game.

and what the ###### are some of you talking about "there is no game dev giving more infos about there games"
mhhhh, blizzard is doing well after anouncing a game, since they are.

uwe is still a very talented and powerfull team, but the spirit have gone.
    money rules now.
    rip cool guys :/

flame me because im different and dare to say what i think :)

You sure 'bout 10 <u>rine</u> buildings? I only count to six, and thats with the TFac which has been dropped [for now].
    CC - Obs - Proto - Phasegate - Turret - TF

The only thing i wonder 'bout is how gaming magazines will rate it as that should be enough pr to those jerks out there.
uplink was rated around 70%ish and i wasted 2 years on that and still play it from time to time, that very same magazine should give ns 2 -judging by the teasers for now- at least 91%.

Make it 10 buildings altogether then :)

At least the Finnish PC gamer had absolutely terrible reviews. Most smaller game companies received very little coverage and irrelevant 1/2 page reviews or so. In Finland there's at least one widely spread decent magazine, which actually picks up less known games quite often. For the rest of the Europe I don't know, but at least I've got the picture that most PCG magazines have got similar mainstream bias as the Finnish one had.

dont mistake a "pre alpha" with a "alpha" version.
its sure that releasing a pre alpha version of the game or only the engine would help
nobody (except cheatcoders) but when its playable and all units and buildings
are rare done and you are able to play togeter over tcp/ip/udp,
its ready to be released to the ppl who paid for playing alpha.

a beta is to finish the game, to do balance changes and to find real serious errors.

all major errors like "dosent start with ati cards" should be fixed in the alpha.

furthermore the beta will be public, it would be good, to fix as much bugs as possible
    before entering beta stadium.

okay, i think they have so much work left to do, that they could not release it yet,
because they couldnt handle the flood on bugreports, becaus major things are not
ready yet. but like someone else suggested, they should do some loadingbars for
the individual tasks like engine map ns_raffinery onos netcode etc like you know
it from moddb and so on.

but there is no official statement. i recive regulary emails in with the newstes
reveals. n1, but no statements to the overall progress at all.

i feel betrayed because i dont know anything else than, the models are finished,
the game is playable but they dont want to comment the actuall situation.

to the foto, same as *look up*

there is no statement about it.
if its leaked and just for them self okay.
but its not leaked, its released by themself without an explanation.
