Eh, I'm sure if they sat around indoors all day looking out at the rain, they'd turn imperialistic too just to have an excuse to get away. And then they'd buy wristwatches. Seriously, wristwatches. Let's talk about wristwatches now.

And also so that they have a watch they actually take care of and that is reliable etc...
Similar to how people decide to buy a nice pair of sunglasses because they keep losing/breaking cheap pairs of sunglasses.

I'm sure it says something about you if you find yourself unable to take care of something just because it didn't cost a fortune. I'm just not sure exactly what.

I had a Fossil before I got the Timex, didn't keep it for long, couldn't keep time worth a damn.

I had that exact watch, still do in fact, it's sitting on my desk. It was pretty awesome, but unfortunately I scuffed it against something and it got a deep scratch in the face, obscuring some of the numbers.

I took a corner around a brick wall a little to quick one day and scratched my watch pretty bad but I kept wearing it and it seemed to buff itself out, now it is pretty unnoticeable.
