<div class="IPBDescription">many options you have</div>There seems to be a deluge of spam by first time posters of late. Many options exist to eliminate this problem.

I'd like to know what's being done to prevent this from recurring - seems every day there's at least one post of this sort. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":0" border="0" alt="wow.gif" />

The forum just needs to be updated, sadly that is out of my hands. And if you are only seeing one per day, then we are doing a good job keeping the other 10 out of sight <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

As a matter of fact 2.3.6 beefed up the CAPTCHA significantly. Afaik they're still on 2.3.1 here.

We're aware of the problem and the solutions. At the moment we're too busy working on the game and maintaining the company to upgrade the forums. It probably sounds easy, but we've made modifications to Invision to allow it to work with our CMS so the process is a bit delicate. And, since the release of Invision 3.0 might be right around the corner, we only want to upgrade once rather than twice.
