I started playing again lately and you'll find me on TWB servers, only ones with people and no ######ty custom maps. Although you'll still hear me shouting at how ###### the tank maps are..###### the tank maps <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Close quarters tank maps that focuses on inf more like Leningrad or Rakowice are fun. The big open ones where the objectives are 5 minutes away from each other like Arad are utter trash. Everyone turns into a retarded selfish tank ###### and they'll just drive off on their own to try and plink away at the other tanks from 5 miles, or somebody just drives off on their own in a transport. They have hardly any proper inf combat apart from seeing one guy every 5 minutes and then you just die to a tank MG that was barely a pixel on the horizon.

Yeah, a mate of mine and I got in a tank and he's a bit of a WW2 nut. He knew the right angles of the tank to expose to the enemy and where to shoot and suchlike. Made it profun.

Then it turns into awesome on ice.
I just had great fun with a pal while we were talking on <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/" target="_blank">mumble</a> (as I see it, vastly superior to vent/ts). It was loads of fun driving around with a heavy tank while shots just reflected on our armor as he knows the good angles to stand in. Then we got to a custom map with like 12 capture points, it was huge but you could only use light tanks and those 45 degree limited ones, and it also lagged. Not perfect but huge potential. All we need to do is learn how to shoot while moving <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

Me and a friend is practicing hitting targets at 200-300 meters while moving. The enemies we encounter have a really hard time countering our long range kiting.
god I feel like playing some company of heroes now.
Real tank aces don't snipe. They get in their enemy's face and circle strafe them at full speed while your pro-gunner that's practiced at it punches them with AP rounds until they're swiss cheese. Everyone expects sniper battles from tanks. We actually get in close and dominate <b>everyone</b>, especially all the one man tanks, who constantly are switching between gunner and driver to try and counter us while we keep sitting at their ass and pounding it like a randy prison inmate.
Too much fun. I love tank maps with friends, loathe them when I'm by myself.

Pff. Your puny flanking is nothing compared to my full speed long distance sniping. The tracking you have to do to hit us is more than most people can manage! Getting close and flanking is killing time spend traveling.
Yeah, but you're not a tank <b>ace</b>. Because we defined tank ace in such a way that you can't be it, because you hang back and shoot from a distance rather than put yourself in harm's way unnecessarily.

Never said I was a tank <b>ace</b>. What I AM saying though, is that when I get in a tank, the machinery itself comes to life - becomes sentient and in a crying attempt to please me as the god of tanking I am, the levers, buttons, and bolts join an a symphony. This symphony, heard only to the outside, the unholy lands beyond the tank armor plating, as moaning metal and twisting hard points, drives the tank into a steel animated lust for the wrecks of enemy tanks. There is no crew. There is only the sinner and the paladin. The tank is omniscient. The tank is omnipotent. I am your god.
