Aliens with weak spots

I like that idea about the gorge with an armored backside that reflects bullets when it runs away.

Heres some more ideas for alien with weak spots.

Fully Armored Alien - This alien would look like a turtle, its head and legs would be covered in armor too, with the armor its can still be killed but it has very high armor and health. It has a weak spot on all 4 legs that holds the armor on its back, if a marine destroys all the weak spots the armor falls off revealing a weak alien with no armor and low health.

Long Neck Armor Alien - This alien has a long armored neck like a giraffe but its body had no armor and is very weak, it can look around corners and shoot projectile attacks without showing its body. Its head and neck cant be damaged.

Flying Alien - This has large wings with weak spots, if the marines shoot all weak spots the alien cant fly for a few seconds.

ok thats all i can think of for now, tell me what you think.

    I recall in one of the podcasts, there was some brain storming by the Devs in the podcast of the gorge using a shield of sorts, as in merely a concept he was thinking about. We'll see what they can reasonably implement to get this game released, but I'm pretty sure that new Kharaa life forms weren't getting much love around here, so those ideas may not get much wind in their sails, but there may be something regarding the gorge.

    I'd actually like to have one more alien somewhere between skulk and lerk to spice up the early-mid game a bit. Either that or even further improved battlegorge. Gorge has still a bit of unused potential though.

    i do find it interesting to for example:
    an onos has a giant armor plate on top of this head, so if an onos rushes at you his entire body is hidden behind the armor: -50% dmg

    but then maybe his behind + 10%

    Hit in eyes to blind
    Concussions temporarily cause deafness
    Capability to disarm an opponent (or literally dis-arm lol!)
    Hit a marine in the crotch

    All kinds of wicked possibilities!

    Not really sure if the above post was sarcasm or not, but oh well..

    Hrmm, well, for the sake of realism; you'd need locational damage specific to the weapon you're using, as well. I don't see someone getting slashed in the face die instantly (unless it chopped half his head off, but that wouldn't be very nice); if it were his unprotected neck then sure, but you'd probably be safer aiming for his torso. I guess my point is.. melee weapons = type A locational damage; ranged weapons = type B locational damage (headshot!).
