    Did you know that if you take the right sequence of pi decimals and convert them to ASCII (it's easier if you convert to binary first), it spells out "im trapped in a universe factory send help"?

    We could, but that would result in every other number being irrational. So it would make our whole mathematics more inaccurate.

    I would call that a prime example of infuriatingly funny.

    In any case, most of the statement was the reference, not just the 3 part. It's from <i>Going Postal</i> by Terry Pratchett. Bloody Stupid Johnson decided the number was wasteful and made a wheel in a device with a PI of exactly 3. Of course he had to bend space to do it, so the device started spitting out letters that hadn't been written yet, or were going to be written but the fellow never got around to it, etc.

    They made a Hogfather live action thing and a Soul Music animated movie.

    And Gwahir, there are plenty of "lol pi is 3" things in popular culture. Expecting us to read your mind and find the Terry Pratchett one is a little unreasonable.
