Would You Like to be Led Around on a Leash?

Tasha Maltby doesn't mind, nor does she mind the weird stares.

<img src="http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i125/Blogger-Sandi/Posts/goth_pet.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->"I am a pet, I generally act animal like and I lead a really easy life," she said.

"I don't cook or clean and I don't go anywhere without Dani. It might seem strange but it makes us both happy. It's my culture and my choice. It isn't hurting anyone."<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Hmmm no cooking or cleaning? ....Nah! still too humiliating, <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=509713&in_page_id=1770" target="_blank"><!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro--><u>not to mention the hassles</u><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></a>.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Last month, with Miss Maltby on a leash as usual, the couple tried to board a bus at the bus station.

The driver, who was off duty, was standing near the door.

Mr Graves alleged: "He shoved me off the bus. He called us freaks and he called Tasha a dog.

"He said, 'We don't let freaks and dogs like you on'. ....

In a separate incident, police were called when the driver, who has not been named, refused to allow other passengers on board after the couple ignored his orders and sat down.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

But according to <a href="http://uk.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUKL2388251520080123" target="_blank"><!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro--><u>a Reuters report</u><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></a>, the bus firm Arriva has apologized.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Arriva would not comment on specifics but said it apologised if the couple felt they had been discriminated against. It added, however, that the driver was worried about safety and the company told Maltby to take the leash off in the future.

"We have spoken to the driver who has talked about health and safety," a spokesman said. "Should she be attached to a chain and something happens on the bus, that could be dangerous. All we are saying is that she is very welcome to use the buses but not when she is on her lead."<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well I guess different strokes and all of that... <img src="http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i125/Blogger-Sandi/Emots/Action/shrug.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I can't say I care for them, it's attention seeking of the highest order.

That said, I laughed at the quote from Arriva that she needs to be off her leash. Surely we normally insist pets on a bus must be kept ON a leash? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

My ex had pretty much the exact same collar and lead.

And yes, she made me walk her around a town once. Only once though.

I know some people like this, as well as people into other aspects of a sub/dom relationship.

Honestly, if it makes you feel good, and you harm no one else in doing it.

    Go for it.

Again, I am not really into this my self, however I feel like talking a bit about what I know.
Some of the sub/dom or master/slave or owner/pet relationships I know are some of the best ones there are.

I think it should be noted that the relationship types I listed are just broad examples and there are many facets of these types of relationships, each unique to the couple.

One of the things about these relationships is that they are NOT one way things. A sub is NOT expected to be treated as trash (unless he or she desires that, and some people do). Owner/Pet is one of the easier to grasp ideas. As an owner you have responsibilities to your pet, to love, to care for, to provide for, to protect and yes, in some cases to discipline. We also expect specific things from our pets, love, caring, companion, etc. Now take that and replace the pet with a rational and consenting adult.

Meh, I am glad the bus company apologized, I doubt the driver had anyone's safety in mind, however that is correct also. Oh well.

    grumble, forgot to mention:
These relationships (like ANY OTHER) have the ability to be horrible ones. A sub who tries to get their partner to be their Dom when the partner really doesn't get it? no good. A control freak that convinces their partner they are a sub? Really not good.
Unfortunately, there are a number of instances of people trying to pass off an unhealthy relationship as something different, and people end up taring the good relationships with the same brush.

Why should I care about this? Not as in "this thread is worthless," but why should this concern me? It's none of my business, it doesn't affect me in any way.

    Agreeing with this.

If it isn't hurting anyone (against their will) I don't give a ######.

Sub/Dom is <i>hardly</i> the strangest thing that people do.

However, that picture is just hilarious. That guy looks like a mix between Edward Scissorhands and and Lurch from the Adams family.

The only news here is that this was news to begin with. The bus driver was completely out of line. It isn't his job to shape public behaviour. These are two consenting adults.

It's just the same language that was thrown at punks for wearing pins through their noses. It's the usual moral majority who disapprove of a few kids expressing themselves outside of the accepted conventions. Whether I personally think the behaviour is acceptable or not is irrelevant to their right to practice it.
