Riiiiight, Stonewall just made the "organizations I will never join" list.
Edit:
What? ###### is blocked, but lesbian is not <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
Does it? I see, that's why Harry and Dumbledore had such a close relationship before he popped it..
Try dyke or somesuch.
These news are too strange for me to comprehend.
she is the author, you'd have a hard time proving that she is wrong about her own fictional characters. I'm not partial to the idea really, not that I'm homophobic, but it doesn't match the dumbledore I've developed from reading the series.
That sums it up.
HP slashfic is going to be even WORSE now as they all can claim to be canon!
However, yes I could see it.
The description of events between Dumbledore and Grindelwald DOES hint at Dumbledore having feelings for Grindelwald.
Oh, and saying that an author can't state things about characters that didn't happen in their books is silly. (good) Authors have much more knowledge about their characters then will ever make it into the books simply because characters need to have a solid background to proper (and consistent) reactions to things that happen in the plot.
Right. Like I said, makes sense.
Yup, just agreeing with you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
<span style='color:#000000;background:#000000'>I've never read the books, and only watched the first movie. Of the entire story, the only part I know is that "Snape kills Dumbledore."</span>
I agree about that Stonewall comment, it's really backward (though I guess I am not an expert on homosexual discrimination)
not read the books so cant really comment on the actual revelation.
this reply fails to be interesting and im sorry lol, just a little chilled atm xD
Well, as far as being asexual... he was like 80 or something in the books. Every old person I've ever met has been pretty asexual...
Also, pretty much in every one of the books it mentions how well dressed he always is. Not that being well dressed makes you a poofter, but he was generally the only one that was always specifically mentioned.
I won't claim to have ever read any of the books (and I'm not entirely sure why I'm in this thread to begin with), but I will point out that - from a historical context - the word 'love' was often used in a platonic sense between military men and men and their lords if they were good friends (and even between lords and their vassals). However, I'm not entirely sure what timeframe HP takes, or if Rowlings has any semblence of historical knowledge, so this is probably a completely irrelevant point.
Sorry to have wasted your time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .
Quoted for truth.
I laughed so damn hard. That didn't even cross my mind, I guess I failed at internetz.

They're set in present day. So yes, that totally wasted out time. HUGE WASTE.
What about Ian McKellen? <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005212/bio" target="_blank">Didn't you know?</a>
