The single player demo was just.. wow..

I wasn't really expecting much for some reason, since it was all "modern warfare" and all that jazz, but after playing the demo level, especially the whole nightvision scene... Infinity Ward wins again.

Meh. I played the single player demo through. Didn't like it so much. Boarded up windows that you can't shoot through, even with a machine gun? Teammates who still don't care if you mow them down? I'd actually be fine with all that, though, if it was as good as CoD and CoD2, but it just didn't feel anywhere near as fun. Shooting the tanks was boring. Just aim and fire. I never even got shot at. The rest of the mission was just shooting at people, but somehow they made it even more chaotic than the WW2 games, and I felt l less like I was in a firefight and more like I was wandering in to someone else's firefight. It might just be this level or something (CoD/CoD2 certainly had levels that were less than awesome) but I just didn't have as much fun.

Few things about the SP Demo:

Wow, what a buggy piece of ######. Every time I changed resolution, CRASH. If I played it with the settings on anything but low, CRASH(and this is a PC that runs the UT3 demo at maximum settings with at least 30fps in combat). Finally, I go and I play the campaign at 640x480.

Gameplay wise, its okay, but the level design feels simpler than ever before- this is like Call of Duty 0. On the hardest difficulty, it was like Call of Duty 2 at normal.

I'm probably just gonna rent this for 360, get the achievements, and let that be the end of it. This demo did not impress me whatsoever.

pretty much exactly how I felt. Too chaotic, I couldn't tell what the heck was going on. extra annoying was that my squad leader was yapping at me to hurry up, but of course if I rushed the objective I got mowed down.

It was CoD, but too chaotic. It had more of an arena feel to it.

Yeah, exactly! The idiot was sitting behind cover telling me to charge a fortified enemy position that would mow me down if I stuck my head up! It doesn't help that he says the SAME THING over and over again. Coming from Episode 2, this is not something I'd spend time playing. Apparently the multiplayer is pretty awesome, but whatever. CoD has always had a great, epic, cinematic experience, and if it's all like this demo then they've lost that somewhere along the line. Instead of cinematic, they've replaced it with chaotic. It's less Saving Private Ryan and more Escape from New York. I don't feel like I'm playing a movie, I feel like I'm playing a big, jumbled up firefight with no driving force behind it.

More gripes: If like, ever 3rd enemy or something has a freaking RPG on their back, why don't they at least use those against the tank instead of charging up at it? Why did I have to take out the AA cannon to let the helicopter attack when there were other AA cannons like, 1000 feet away or something that could easily shoot it down? Why does the helicopter make two passes at that one building, and at the end it's just missing a few chunks? That thing should be completely gone. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter blew up buildings. Heck, even Medal of Honor: Airborne feels a lot more like Call of Duty than CoD4.

Yeah, I didn't get the point of the tank protective battle either. The enemy don't use their RPGs, and you move in to take out ONE anti aircraft gun, so that 2 attack helicopters can rush in and snipe 3 guys in a building, after you, yourself killed, what? sixty of them? And why the heck did that guy bring chalk to draw on the tank, when he just as well could have turned hes chubby torso and pointed?
"LISTEN UP TEAM, LETS HUSTLE NOW LOOK HERE, WE SET UP A PERIMETER AND PUT SOME FIRE ON THE ENEMY WHILE USING SOME SUPRESSIVE FIRE, NEXT TO THISE BUILDINGS, AND THIS PASTURE:" HOARRR

also, why does he at the start of the demo, right when you gain control sound like he is talking through a microphone, even though he is shouting at you and waving his arms like a chimp on fire, 2 meters in front of you.

    IT DUN ME NO SENSE.
