The best part of the movie was

I went last night, during the Maelstrom scene the projector broke. Free tickets FTW. Although I'm not sitting all the way through again just to see the end.

I just saw it and I didn't like it much at all. Too much action, too little real plot. Too many "Oh yeah didn't y'know that piece of lore that totally changes the rest of the plot? Oh well! It does!".
I get the feeling Disney is milking this cash cow for all its worth. I wanted a gorramed resolution.

I agree with whoever you're hearing it from. I enjoyed it a lot, but I liked the second movie best of all and the first one was better than number 3. It's weird because I like long movies but this one seemed like it had some parts that dragged on a bit (not the whole ending sequence though, that was fine). The only thing this had going for it over #2 is Captain Barbossa. That guy's awesome. Can't get enough of him.

The sound kept playing and the screen went black. Supervisor came out first of all and said that he thought a reel or something had just bodged up and they were replacing it. Then it wouldn't start up again so he said it was broke.
We had a stoner in our showing who would laugh during the wierdest parts and repeat character's lines like they had really caught his interest. I guess it makes PotC3 a bad movie since I actually enjoyed laughing at this man more than watching the movie. My favorite part was when some character said "blah blah blah cuttlefish" and the stoner suddenly snapped his head towards the screen and yelled "CUTTLEFISH!?!? Hoo hoo!!!" and started to bounce up and down in his seat.
The whole Singapore scene, and then the whole sword/ship fight at the end, were both pretty freaking awesome. Not that the rest of the movie wasn't great, but those two were my favorites. Captain Barbossa is the coolest.
I did enjoy it since I went in with quite low expectations. I loved the first and mildly enjoyed the second and was expecting the downward trend to continue. The humour definately felt more forced and cliched, but was still fun to watch. I don't agree with people saying there was a lack of plot, I quite enjoyed the plot with the few "aliiances" always chaning and so forth. Thankfully our theater brought back cheap Tuesdays ($5 CDN!) so I felt I got my money's worth <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

I'd just like to point out how unhappy this movie makes me... It's 12:24, I'm a projectionist, and the last Pirates doesn't get out for over an hour from now. I haven't got a car, and I live an hour from the theater on foot. I'll get out of here about 1:45, and home about 2:45. Damn you Johnny Depp and Disney for making this movie so damn long.
On the plus side, I did see it two days before it came out, and I was payed to watch it.

Anyway, I haven't had time to see it, what with work, but I'll see it eventually... much like how I'll see the second one eventually...

Scissors.
You can splice the film back together later.
