What do You Watch in the Vast Wasteland of Television?

So what shows do you guys watch? I don't mean stuff that you'll watch if it happens to be on (like how I watch Mythbusters), but shows that you actively follow and try to catch every week.

For me, its Heroes, The Black Donnellys, House, Jericho and Battlestar Galactica.

I like to watch the Thursday night NBC comedy stuff: My Name is Earl, The Office, 30 Rock, and sometimes Scrubs. I usually watch Countdown with Keith Olbermann if it's not Thursday. I watch Jeopardy if I'm waiting for My Name is Earl to come on. But I really don't watch much TV besides that.

Um Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Champions League Live and whatever Football highlights there are. Baring in mind I work 3/5 weeknights I don't see Coronation Street and Hollyoaks all that much, nor see the omnibuses as I work weekend days. However I can't miss the live football and the highlights, EVAR. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

the old lady still loves Lost, but that's pretty much the only thing we turn on the TV for. we're a new kind of lazy. Call it meta-lazy if you will. Too lazy to even turn on the TV. But really, it IS a lot of work finding something worthwhile to watch, and I hate commercials. I won't listen to commercial radio and don't like watching commercial TV when I can avoid it. There's some good stuff out there though. Scrubs is good. House is entertaining usually also. I should give Heroes a watch.

    Firefly (it's gone now, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> but I still watch it)
South Park (great new episode last night!)
Battlestar Galactica (It's just so intense.)

And shows that I frequently watch in the background:

    Black Adder ("Bob?")
    Monty Python
    Futurama
    Red Dwarf

Although I don't actually watch any of these on television. The only show that I might end up watching on TV is Top Gear.

Heroes, Scrubs, Venture Bros, South Park, and the Adult Swim stuff that doesn't suck (aka Futurama and Family Guy reruns, along with their older shows).

I really just watch South Park (haha midgets) and The Office. That's pretty much it.

I download and watch old episodes of other shows (Lots of Adult swim stuff, Venture Bros/ATHF/Harvey Birdman/Futurama/etc) but I don't think that really counts.

Scrubs, Simpsons, and Arrested Development in the comedy department, as well as a bit of Family Guy when the mood takes me. For drama I turn to Law & Order (SVU especially) and House. I also like the political shows, you know, John Stewert, Colbert, and Rick Mercer for my government-required Canadian content. Sadly, I only have rabbit ears for my TV, so I'm quite limited in my viewing choice.

    heroes
    BSG

other stuff I don't pay much attention to while it's on.

I have a mythbox which auto-skips commercials fairly well.

As of recently... The Shield, 24, Jericho, Grey's Anatomy. Family Guy.

Wife got me into Grey's Anatomy, and it was actually getting pretty good. I mean, sure, it's a medical drama soap opera but they've got some good characters and presentation... but the end of the second part and the entire third episode of that three-episode stretch recently just ###### killed it for me. Just when I thought they were going to do something cool, they went with the lame cop-out and lost it.

Jericho's also weird. The premise rules. I watched every episode up to the first one back a couple weeks ago. But it's just not done right. They fail at timelines and have dragged things on way too long. I thought they were on the path to quick redemption with the first new episode recently, with the flashback to the days prior... and while it was actually a pretty good episode by comparison to the rest, except for one thing... The entire rest of the show is now nullified and makes no sense. Whoops. Gotta catch up on the last couple episodes, see where they went from there...

The Shield is the greatest show on television. Unfortunately I learned this after season 5 started, so it's a race for the DVD release against the season 6 premiere... I need at least 12 hours between the two <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

Heroes, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

If any of you guys enjoyed West Wing you should definitely watch studio 60. It's awesome. Best writing I've seen in a TV show in a long time.

    Scrubs.

    National Geographic, Discovery, History, etc.

    Daily Show / Colbert Report.

Sopranos on A&E is censored, but the first season pwns so I watch it anyway.

    Adult Swim.

That's really it... the rest of TV is garbage IMO.

    When I do watch it,

    Random comedians
    Colbert Report / Daily Show
    Glenn Beck Show
Maybe a bit of That 70's Show when there's REALLY nothing good on.
(1st Season only...) Battlestar Galactica. (The new season is too... blegh.)

The Shield, Family Guy, the news.

CSI can be very entertaining and interesting but so many things they do on that show is exagerated beyond reality.

It gets really annoying sometimes when people expect you to do the impossible or do something proceedurally or that matter b/c somone saw it on CSI or Law and Order etc.

And your like... and where did you hear that?

    "TV"
    or...

    Exactly.
