i used to live near a place called laser quest... they give you harnesses with hitboxes and laser rifles... then they send you into an arena and after about a minute you can start shooting... it's a ffa usually, but teaming up with the date could be fun... just remember, ff is on...
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The hitboxes in laser tag are worse than a laggy NS server. Given the choice, I would much rather take paintballing.

if you both have similar tastes in music and decent music collections, you could hang out and share music. and by share music i mean just let her listen to your legally purchased music while you listen to hers. nothing illegal at all.

You mean like if you made a legal backup of your music, as per your rights, and that backup just happened to fall into her suitcase as you were packing it for her, when she went home. And you never realised, and it was just an accident.

    Nothing illegal in that, right?

Of course, if you flat out handed the disc to her...

why did you ask her out?
what did you see in her?
You cant hide who you are,why bother on dates?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I asked her out, because I like her...
I have known her for a few months, I enjoy being in her company, and making her smile/laugh, and she makes me smile/laugh as well. She's intelligent, and I enjoy talking to her. She's pretty much awesome.
What? Who said anything about hiding stuff? I just wanted an idea as to where to go on a date...

    Bingo.

The important things to bear in mind are that, she agreed to go on a date with you so she obviously likes you, and secondly when girls like you they don't care too much where you go or what you do on a date - they want <b>to spend time with you</b>. I'd recommend doing something that either you both enjoy, or something neither of you have done before (I went ice skating on a date once, went rather well actually).

Yeah, someone needs to put out a message across the collective female conscioussness that blokes just aren't getting it, <i>you need to be more blunt, ladies!</i>
Seriously though, the line between "somewhat close friends" and "I like you" is so blurry I'm surprised it was even a line to begin with. It's confusing, and women don't make it easy :o
  • eedioteediot Join Date: 2003-02-24 Member: 13903Members
They don't need to be more blunt, having the balls to ask without being 100% sure is what separates embarrassed teenagers from confident adults and desirable boyfriends. It's all part of the game - learn to read the signs, learn to play, then ignore it and be a man anyway.

Honestly, you could go on for pages about understanding girls, but if you just don't right now, muster up some chutzpah and accept that things are going to backfire sometimes.

also, laser tag... laser tag is freaking amazing, who DOESN'T like it?
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Me.

Well, wait, that's not entirely true. I just can't ...you know, play it. Not that I can't play it either, it's that I can't physically play it, because it takes place in dark rooms with shiny lasers and my eyes suck at anything that involves 'dark', 'night' or 'no light'.

Which leads me to a small tangent to this particular topic: What do all of you people suggest for someone who is night-blind? That is, someone who has <i>no</i> night vision. That is, someone who cannot see their hand in front of their face, standing in the middle of a field during a clear sky and a full moon. That's right, that person is me, and in this particular case, I'd like to inquire as to what you people would suggest for dates that don't involve something at night?

Keep in mind that dinner usually happens at night (summer tends to be special, woot for 9pm sunsets), movies (both getting to and from the theatre and ...walking to the seat - although I've heard the exciting suggestion that it'd be a legitimate excuse for handholding), sporting events (many of them, anyway), star-gazing (doesn't help when you can't see the girl or the stars), and going to bars/arcades all involve a (usually) insuitable amount of darkness. Apparently my bleak future is limited to lunches, noon drive-in matinees, weekend bowling-league spectating, solar-eclipse viewing and pre-noon drinking...

Yay, me. Well, enough with that self-pity.

Congratulations. May I suggest any of the many things which I am incapable of doing? One additional possibility is a fair. Occasionally there are indoor fairs, and depending on the deadline for this particular date you may be able to find something city/county/state-level to go to (cultural festivals apparently work nicely as well). You may try to mutually engage in cooking something as well - I hear it involves lots of fun bonding, plus talking and the eventual consumption of a (potentially, depending on how well you cook) delicious meal...possibly with a movie/talking afterwards.

I've only observed this rare practice. As my few attempts at dating have failed miserably due to celestially imposed limitations...

The much repeated, yet very logical, advice follows: be yourself.

Unless you're me...at which point you hope for better eyes or better public transportation.

that must be quite weird, not being able to see in low light. there's no modern technologies to help? there should be fancy nightvision goggles that can be disguised as glasses. At any rate, don't let it interfere with dating too much. Be honest with your date about it, and if she doesn't understand, she's not worth your time anyway.

i know this is a problem

    you see,women like mysticism.
So they put their men and manfriends through all sorts of things.
    like the hinting game.

you've probably heard the "do you notice anything new about me today?"
where the man has to tread very carefully, and the woman grows more and more upset for each second that goes by that he doesnt see/compliment on what is new.
Take note that most of the female population actually makes an effort to look pretty for the sake of the opposite sex.
failing to see what she has improved about her looks or whatever will not be taken lightly.

Because more than likely she has bought/done it to look even more appealing.

It's the same thing with my Boyfriend wanting to buy me a birthday present,i hint and try and make it less obvious (so i can actually be curious about what he actually did buy me, instead of SAYING what i want)
    It didnt work...
I take it lightly,im delighted that he buys me whatever i wanted (within reason, i could have asked for the moon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />)
    But i did want abit of a mystery about what id get <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
i dont know if some of it makes sense...

but im not very good with words.
i actually read the book Women are from Venus , Men are from Mars.
    it explains alot!
and its a funny book too, i giggled on several occasions, even slapped my forehead..
good entertainment, if you want explanation, there it is. it explained alot to me about men... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
