Ok, did a rerun (from my experimental build) with the stable build and it seems the devs made some tricky functional workaround that now allows you to get to the prison in a less lucky and more predictable and reliable manor. As long as you know what to do:
The silent running is now made all powerful and the Sea Dragon is practically blind in that mode. He can directly pass the ship without noticing, while he will detect the player from very far away when he tries to repair the sub from the outside. Obviously a diver makes 100x more noise than the silent running Cyclops. I could easily drive the Cyclops to the prison with the now "superinvisible/superignored" Cyclops. As long as you don't ram the Sea Dragon he doesn't seem to target you in silent running. You can do lots of things inside the Cyclops in silent running mode while the Sea Dragon is circling around you trying helplessly to find a target.
On the other side the Sea Dragon is dangerous as ever. He is super fast and can hit extremely hard. He can detect the player from very far away while not finding a silenced Cyclops right under his nose, so you can't simply repair the Cyclops near a Sea Dragon. Even the Prawn suit will be detected from very far away. So your only way to deal with the Sea Dragon outside the Cyclops is practically only the Stasis rifle. But that works.

Time for the devs to polish the action/system with the Cyclops. Because right now it will suck playing with the Cyclops. And it won't help to force the player to use a sucking system (like making the Prawn suit weaker). That will only make the game less fun.

What I would have expected:
- Silent running for a sub should only work from afar (>50m) to avoid attracting a leviathan and not be less silent that a diver.
- The Cyclops would be immune to all damage lesser than that of leviathans.
- In case of detection the Cyclops should turn on the shield and deploy a decoy, while driving away to distance and revert to silence.
- A hotkey system with pilot HUD, allowing real quick actions and not wasting time finding all that displays around you.
- Leviathans that cycle along a path guarding something, so you can time your action and slip through.
Until then:

Should be nice, a danger aspect should also be involved, i.e extreme temperatures, must have protective clothing to venture etc.

The Picture really got to me. Once again the feeling how less we know about our own planet and how small we can be in comparison. And awe inspiring at the same time. How the first guys that found this cave must have felt?
@zimmym Really nice idea...if the Devs decide to add new mini biomes or caves to the map this should be way up there on their list of possible things to add if you ask me.

I know that coding is hard. I get it. But you have to admit that is a good idea to fumble around with, right.
You have to understand that the option of multiplayer is completely off the table. The devs have considered this a lot of times but it has been impossible to start every time someone asks for it. It's not that the devs don't think it would be fun, it's simply impossible to do so ATM.

Exactely. At first, the devs played with the idea of co-op. But, as Subnautica progressed it's development, multiplayer became something that isn't feasible anymore. I don't remember when, but one of the devs said the game would need to be postponed for at least two years if they tried to do anything related to multiplayer. This 2+ years coupled with fixed and updates to things run better. So, they would need what? Another 8 years? That is why multiplayer was dropped - both the version of Subnautica would be a true mess to deal with together with the time needed to implement and solved the issues.

I don't know if this is a place where developers and such can see this kind of thing, (so other consumers please repost this where it will be effective if you like it.). I would personally like to see Weather changes, maybe even seasons long term, (though not 365 days in game maybe every 20 in game days a season change? with random weather?). I would also like to see more aggressiveness in well, aggressive creatures, they are simply too easy to avoid. I'm certain I'm not the first to have these ideas, but I haven't come across them posted before, (not saying they haven't been posted, just that I haven't seen them). Sir_Aflack

"WHAT TO YOU MEAN BITES GONE MISSING?" Lieutenant General Rasputin shouted at the KGB. He had been incharge of affairs in the above world as Bite commanded his armies in the lava zone. And to be frank, he was doing a piss poor job of it.
"We went into the cube, Bite spoke to it and we were teleported into the lost river just as our report states" The leader of the KGB unit and Bite's personal body guard said. It was his responsibility for Bite being alive and if he failed then his head was literally on the line.
"But how did you lose him? Why did you leave?" Rasputin barked, without Bite moral in the war would drop and the GCSC would have to pull out to sustain uprisings if the war turned grim.
"We did not he left of his own accord. It was not our fault" the commander whimpered like a child who was being convicted of stealing a cookie.
"First the ampeels destroyed our entire force and now our ruler has gone missing, if word of this leaves this palace then the bloodbath would put the blood kelp uprising too shame. Commander it's your job to make sure that this never enters the mind of our citizens, use any method you must and keep the GCSC alive."
"Copy that Lieutenant General" the commander responded.
GCSC politics had become uneasy after Bite left for the lava zone with multiple political leaders calling for Bite to be removed from power while in the war. All these proposition were turned down as each leader would only nominate themselves and all the leaders that were for Bite would overrule his votes.
Meanwhile in the thermal plant
"Consciousness upload compleat, Activating AI." The structure spoke. It was the voice of Anna so it made Bite uneasy to hear his wife as an omnipotent being.
"Mother? Father?" Katyusha spoke, her voice was garbled and slightly of pitch.
"Bite her brain sustained some damaged during the fight, because of this some of her memories might of become corrupt and she might have amnesia in some places." Anna informed
"It doesn't matter honey, your with your baby girl now. As soon as the war is over il join you too and we'll be one big happy family again." Bite replied
"Why not join us now?" Anna inquired

Re: Any advice for a new starter to the game?
The basic starting out tip is to use your escape pod as your main base for a while and after you've found some blue prints go ahead and place a secondary base (your new main base actually) on a spot where multiple biomes meet to get that resource/blueprint gathering efficiency.
If you're up to this point and have a self sustaining base, you should know more than enough to start exploring the depth of Subnautica
