Re: Funny Subnautica pictures and memes
While on the Mountain Island in Creative, I dropped the random floaters in my inventory. It just so happened that when I did this, a Cave Crawler was right under me.
The result was this.

The thing was still jumping at me, but the floater was causing it to fly and spin around crazily. I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Seriously, go and try this, it is amazing to watch.

Re: Our prayers have been answered! (creature behavior/research)
Oh dear, I've missed a few episodes...
Anyway, in response to your Crabsquid episode, I made a discovery. When creating the Battle for Cache 3, I found out Crabsquid really, REALLY don't like ILZ creatures. I'll make a video and put it up here for you.

Okay, so that turned into something that really wasn't an observation of Crabsquids, but you get my point, they're a lot more aggressive in my game than yours...
Funny...
Also, Lava Lizards attack Lava Larva, which i find a bit weird...

Fanfiction: What Was, Before What Is
Many Years Ago...
Val didn't rush. The Halori didn't ever rush. Instead, she swept through the halls, the skirts of her Medical Class robes whispering against her legs. Quiet ruled the hallways of the vast ship that carried them towards their new home. The watery planet was perfect. Studies had been done and it had been concluded that the planet was filled with life and would support colonies with ease. There was an acceptable landmass for setting down, an event that was moments away.
Others were excited, but Valnoree was not. She was... something. She didn't know what she was experiencing. Her language had no word for 'fear', and so she had nothing to connect the concept to.
She wanted to rush. She felt urgency. Urgency, like rushing, was to be denied at all costs. Haste, greed, envy... they had evolved beyond such infantile expressions of emotion. The Halori were a space-faring race that literally ruled everything it touched. They no longer knew anything that one might consider what was referred to as 'adversity'. Adversity was the lack of security, and this, like the feeling moving through her, was an unfamiliar concept. Adversity was something the Halori knew more as a concept than a truth.
She tried in vain to subjugate the unfamiliar feeling. She didn't try to stifle her disappointment and irritation, however. These were healthy expressions, necessary in dealing with other people.
Something had been overlooked. There was no word, either, in her vocabulary for "mistake" and no concept of error. One was correct or not correct. Something was noticed or not noticed. There was no judgement for being wrong or right, correct or incorrect. Irritation was allowed, but somehow, this other feeling, this unfamiliar thing rising within her was making her irritation rise to inappropriate levels. She might even need correction later.
For now, however, she followed the corridor, striding towards the bridge of their colonial vessel. Opening the door, for the first time since she had been confirmed in her womanhood and selected for the Medical Class, she had to struggle to contain herself. Controlling her emotions was easy. She had been doing it since adulthood.
Except... it wasn't.
She stopped before the androgene who controlled the vessel. "Captain," she greeted ver, "I must speak with you. Immediately."
Profound silence fell. The word was nearly forbidden, being so close to unseemly haste. To speak it necessitated a situation that had potential to disturb security. Security was a serious matter, and she had just stated openly that something might be able to disrupt the continuity of the flow.
"You are unseemly," ve said, vis eyes narrowing.
"Something has been overlooked on the planet, Captain," she replied. "I have found--"
Vis face hardened, eyes narrowing even farther. Ve gestured, and two Security Class Scouts stepped forward. "Take her off the bridge and correct her. Level one."
She was already to be corrected, so she gave in to the inappropriate impulses inside her. "Captain, please listen. We will face adversity on this planet. Perhaps even..." she sought for a word and failed to find it. Adversity was the worst word in their language, and she knew that it was inadequate to explain what was to come. She used words she had read once, in an ancient text. "I beg of thee, hear my cry, else death befall us all."
"Level two," ve said, and turned away.
All other eyes turned away, as well. She no longer existed to them. They would not hear her words, they would not see her face. She was no more until correction was finished.
"We will all die. We will all die," she repeated. She heard something new in her voice and felt it inside her. Her language did not, yet, contain the words "sorrow" or "regret".
She was taken below to correction. She would be alone for a full cycle of the moon of her homeland, for she was undergoing correction.
It was this which saved her when the doors were opened and the Halori took their first bold steps out onto the world they fully intended to conquer. She would be the last to be infected, trapped as she was in the halls of the behemoth starship, surviving on the potted plants that were all the food allowed to those who did not officially exist.

Re: "Flagship Eclipse" : Subnautica Story
SAMPSON LARK
The girl was fine. She lay on a bed, no longer bleeding; she was all patched up, thanks to Penna. Those things that nearly took her I called Scuttlers. The Scuttlers ran back into their tunnels after Zenn killed a few, and now here we were.
Tary would be fine, and even if she was to die I wouldn't care so much. I was more worried about Malla; he was a hard working man, when it came to it. I thought him dead; no one had seen him in two days. Zenn says that Malla had abandoned him in the ocean to die, so he came back here. It isn't something Malla would do, I felt, but I was inclined to believe Zenn about it. He was the most trustworthy person on this god damn island.
Malla had left us, either willingly or not, and I was going to go find him. "Otta!" I called. "We're going to find Malla! Get your seaglide!"
Then something burst out of the water. It jumped from the water and landed on the beach, sliding across the sand. The figure was covered in blood, and water, and it twitched in the sand, clutching his wounds tight together. A seaglide flew out of his hands and became half submerged in the sang, still whirring.
"Malla!" Penna cried and ran to him. I was angry; where had he been?
"Where the hell were you?!" I yelled. He looked at me that accusing way again. I was done with people looking at me that way. "Don't look at me like that; tell me where you were!" He was awake, and it hurt me that he was. Penna dragged him across the sand, inside the base. I stared as he was pulled in, and smiled when he was out of my sight. Then I saw over the beach Zenn. He watched this unfold, and he was not smiling. I looked at him, and even from that distance I saw in his eyes a burning anger. It was Malla who had sent Tary into the caves to explore.
"You can't let him stay." Zenn said to me.
"You can't order me." I reminded. "Stand down before I force you down." Then Zenn advanced on my position. I backed up, but I shouldn't have. It gave him the mental edge. He put a finger on my chest and looked me dead in the eyes.
"That man nearly killed Tary." Zenn spat in my face as he spoke. "Throw him back in the water, he'll sink in his condition and it will all be over."
"Malla may be stubborn but he's valuable. He'll be able to help us, will he not?" I stood up straight again.
"No. He thinks that this is a competition. Before I -- he left me, he told me that he was only going forward to beat you in the 'race'." Zenn and I were now finding common ground. I liked it.
"You're a vengeful creature, aren't you Zenn? You value your revenge over much, don't you?" Zenn did not answer. "You shall have your revenge, dear friend." I held out a knife in my hand, by the blade, the handle sticking upwards. Zenn took it. He lightly ran his finger up the edge, and even that faint touch was enough to make blood pour from his finger tip.
"What's this for?" Zenn asked.
"If it's revenge you want it's revenge you'll have. And, if it isn't, Malla will wake tomorrow, after all."
"I want to get revenge in another way, not by killing." Zenn was purposefully trying to vex me, and I would have no more of it.
"There is no other way." I leaned over him, his back bent. My finger was on his chest as I spoke. "Do it or he'll strike again; you know he will."
Zenn turned around and walked away, down the beach lit by the orange light of the setting sun. Would he do it? He still had the knife, so I supposed so.

Re: Reef tank (Pic heavy!)
I registered on the forums just to say that your reef tank is amazing. I could stare at that thing all day if I wanted to.
Re: Aggressive creatures
Sorry don't know how to quote properly lol
The thing about the sandsharks, ampeels, etc. is that they should be considered top predators, at least for their regions. You don't see creatures swimming from biome to biome a whole lot, so the biomes are pretty individual. Given that these biomes are contained, each one of the aforementioned predators is the top predator within their own biome. Just my opinion though. Quote
Sure yeh makes sense. Not denying this and understand what you mean. I guess my issue is I really hate the dunes haha.
Maybe the reason reapers don't roam too much has to do with the same reason that other creatures don't leave their biomes. It could really be a lot of things, from the depth changing between the two biomes to the kind of flora/geologic structures that exist in a certain biome. Maybe the reapers just prefer the habitat of the dunes, as it has more space to roam; they could be highly territorial animals. In addition, the fauna of the grassy plateaus is very similar to the dunes- the reapers have plenty of sandsharks and biters, not to mention smaller prey fish, to snack on.
I get this although I often see reapers roam into the other biomes such as the mushroom forest.
In my eyes the dunes particularly do not hold enough food to supply a reaper leviathan. But yes that is easily a reason as to why the top predators within these regions don't leave them.
But answering your question yes more defensive creatures would be good in my eyes. [/quote]
All in all, I really like the points you bring up. Something that I was trying to say, but was to tired to phrase clearly, was about your idea of defensive creatures. I don't think we need to add new top predators, persay (similar to the idea you had of the crabsnake-eater); I think a more easily codable/more plausible solution would be small mid-level predators. What I have in mind when I say this is a creature, maybe the size of a biter, that specializes in eating one kind of animal. This specialization would then prevent it from seeing you as food, though it would still have predator/prey dynamics with the species it hunts. The reason I would suggest a small creature is that larger predators like the crabsnake-sucker you envisioned could mess up the environment and potentially still attack the player. The thing is, many organisms try to thrive in the most effective way possible in their environment. This usually means they try to consume/nullify as many competing organisms as possible- which is why I find the fact that everything attacks you plausible. However, a creature smaller in stature/lower on the food chain would pose less of a direct threat to the environment, and (especially if it were small) pose a less significant threat to the player. I'm not sure if I'm sounding completely coherent, it's been a long day...
Yeah sure fair enough. I would like a creature that is able to distract the reapers though. Yes they are top predators, but not specifically for you. I think having the sea traders distract them or something as they pass through the dunes would be a good idea. It makes sense to me that they would be the natural prey of the reaper levithan.
As for the crabsnake yeah fair enough it being the top predator means we should have a lower level creature maybe even a flora that specifically attacks the crab snake. Maybe with a scent that doesn't affect the player or something. Or then just a low level fauna tha attacks the smaller fish.
Missing Databank Entry pictures or Databank Entries that don't have any
Yeah noticing this while in game and looking at the wikia which clearly shows a lot of the databank entries should have pictures but just don't. List is quite large so bare with me here, also be grateful if others could help contribute to this list since there are quite a few entries.
These are the current ones I've found in game or ones that lack any. As I said earlier in the post some of these have actual databank entry pictures, some of which can be found on the main wikia while others are lacking them. More will be added to the list later as I find more in game or others report in on them.
Edit: added databank images to list items.
Edit 2: used the console command in game to get the PDA entries and looked through which ones didn't have a database pictures, found quite a few. Didn't include a lot of the base building items and equipment yet. Will probably add those to list. Didn't dare add alien tab stuff since they're still working on those. Lets just say there are a LOT of entries that lack database pictures. Some of the ones that I linked to the wikia show that a few of them have pics but apparently aren't showing up in game when they're suppose to be. Going to assume someone who's putting those pics up went into the game files and uploaded them there.

Re: The Final Subnautican Presidential Election
The Call of Duty
@Enderguy059 , this kindness will not be forgotten. Your agents will help at the cache, for I'm certain more attacks will ensue. I can't say when, but I'm sure of their arrival.
@ResolutionBlaze , I ask that you gift us your Leviathans. Their numbers our strong, and for all we know a Sea Dragon could be over the dunes as we speak. Only your leviathans stand a chance of defending against such a threat. There are already many in the dunes area; please grant us one or two.
@Phantomfinch , we need Biters. Lava Larva are very small and very quick; too small and too quick for our clumsy arms to catch. Will your soldiers do the honours?
@the_mariner , you have assumed control of the EPCA, yes? We ask that you grant us a small number of adult Reefbacks to help in the fighting. In the War of Five Fish they were a valuable asset to the Shoal, and were the only reason they succeeded in the Siege of Mushroom Forest, near the end of the war. If we positioned these beasts above the crater, armed with tiger plants, we might just stand a chance when they come back for another attack.
I can't spare many operatives at the moment, but I can give you three gunship-class Reefbacks. Hopefully, that will be enough to defend the Dunes cache. Good luck.
