Re: [POLL] Debate (healthy) in the Dev team! Can we help?
I'd rather They do which ever one continues to keep the game on track for a late Spring v1.0 release.
Even if that means doing neither till after v1.0 releases.

Re: SAVE THE PINK MONSTER THING
Let's not, and just say we did.

Re: Weird new biome filled with giant fingers
Wow, they actually have time to be able to sneak in another biome? Awesome! Even if it's just a cosmetic change to the sparse reef, this is exactly what the game needs more of right now.
"Save Data loading failed" - How do I fix this?
After I exited the game, it wouldn't allow me to load my save. Keeps saying "Save Data loading failed. Try again?" How do I fix this? Is my save completely screwed?
Re: Are Exos viable?
@IronHorse regarding the pre-250, 2 TP requirement for JP+Exo:
I bought NS2 fairly late (about 2.5 years ago), what I remember was XO had only one gun, and you had to build a 2nd TP to buy the 2nd gun for the XO Also, you could only research either catpack or nanoshield at a given TP.
I never liked it, because it seemed inconsistent to me. If you have the proto, why cant you buy two guns straight away if you have the res?
On the other hand, I do like the idea of tying the current version of XO to a 2nd TP. Im not so sure about JP, since they are not that hard to swat from the air... especially if they equip heavier weapons. I'd also like to see the 2 TP requirement for both cpack and nshield restored, and the power surge moved back to the robo-factory.
If asymmetry was the only reason for those changes, then it was a stupid decision
By that extreme logic, aliens should have a different type of resource to collect. And different type of techpoints to claim. And different type of air to breathe. Etc...

Re: Two Updates in One - Subnautica
I have the Xbox version and I AM SO HAPPY

Oh, my head. [ rant ] OK, the AR in AR-15 stands for Armalite Rifle. If it was Alterra, it would be Alterra Rifle. NOT Assault Rifle. Got it? Good. Next, the AR-15 is the semi-automatic version of the automatic military version, the M-16. Meaning, in the AR-15, if you pull the trigger, it will fire once, eject the old casing, load the next one, and wait for you to pull the trigger again. The AR-15 has 2 modes, Semi and Safe, Semi operates as previously described, and Safe prevents firing. In an M-16, you have 3 different modes: Sami-, Auto, and Safe. the Auto mode function depends on the variant of M-16. Most will fire three shots with one trigger pull before returning to standby mode, although some are full automatic, where they will continue firing for as long as the trigger is kept down (these aren't as common, at least for the in the service M-16s, although I hear the Air Force had or has some). [ /rant ]
Side-note: If a developer reads this, regarding Natural Selection 2, please note that when you empty your magazine, and load a new one, unless you f**ked up, you will not have to re-arm the weapon using the charging handle, as it is designed to lock the bolt to the rear when it runs out of ammunition. You simply drop the old mag, place the fresh mag, slap the bolt release, and you're ready to fire. I can't imagine any other well-designed service rifle would require you to pull the charging handle each time you reload.
TL;DR: There is no such thing as a semi-assault rifle. There are semi-automatic weapons. There is a label often used, which is "assault rifle", but no one seems to be able to define what makes it an assault rifle, besides "menacing" and "black" (isn't that racist?!). Fully-automatic weapons have been illegal besides police, military, or heavily regulated (expensive license, registration, background check, etc, not just a background check & go) use since 1934.
Watch this video I looked up, it's by a California Law Enforcement Officer, and he does a good job neutrally differentiating the terms and exactly how semi- and full-auto "assault" rifles get confused:
EDIT: Ok, and yes, I got so carried away, I forgot to also mention, Subnautica isn't going to include weapons, but if you're going to be silly and request it anyways, at least know of what you speak.

Fun mode
Way back during the beginning of Subnautica development, during the age of "Very early access", there was a fun world that young kids (2-6) could play and wonder in. They could explore, imagine, create, and just have fun. Then came a bunch of scary creatures, drowning, scary events, etc. I understand the desire to make the game more interesting and challenging for older players, but could we have an optional mode that throws back to the "good clean fun" days of olde?
P.S. Currently, freedom mode comes closest to this, which is what I have been using.

Re: Biomes In My Mind
Mushroom Forest
The forest is home to some of the most diverse wildlife on the planet, ranging from armoured predators to graceful, luminescent rays and small, nimble creatures. But one of the most extraordinary sights in these forests are the trees themselves. The mushroom stalks are actually made of pure stone, and are built over the course of millions of years thanks to deposits of highly-concentrated salt beneath the surface in biomes yet to be discussed. This can only mean that the Mushroom Forests are some of the oldest environments in the ocean.
The grand mushroom discs that grow on the rocks act as a sanctuary for fish. They live their lives on the top of the disc whilst they lay their eggs on its underside. This helps protect the creatures from some of the more deadly predators in the ocean. The Boneshark is an armoured pack hunter that travels in groups of up to four or five in these areas, and tracks down larger prey, such as Spadefish. Sometimes they will look on the tops of the discs, and when this happens there are rarely any survivors; even the eggs are taken care of.
Reefbacks float above this biome and, once again, they act as a safe haven for fish. These Reefbacks, however, only visit the forest in passing, and move on after a day above the mushrooms.
Then there are the Jellyray. The Jellyray are distant cousins to both the Rabbitray and the Crimson and Ghost ray. The Jellyray has poisonous skin, therefore is avoided by predators such as the Boneshark. They do, in fact, get along rather nicely. Both lay their eggs at the base of the limestone stems and when these eggs hatch the babies, even if they are of different species, spend their first week or two alongside one another. Studies indicate that Bonesharks and Jellyray are so intelligent that they have shown behaviour characteristic of human friends. These creatures are friends from birth.
Sometimes larger predators are known to venture into the forest, but the difficult terrain and cramped nature of the trees makes for a quick visit by Reaper Leviathans. Reapers barely ever get any food from these attacks, and when they do they either choke on a Boneshark or are poisoned by a Jellyray.
Mushroom Forest: "Most diverse environment in all the planet."
Grassy Plataue: "Most diverse in all the ocean."
I'm seeing a trend here.
