Well I don't really mind the teleport so much, but the instant death if they (presumably) teleport you into the lava is kinda sucky.. That bit should at least be fixed.

100% agree.. I've gotten my butt ganked by warpers on numerous occasions. Last time I had the dragon chasing me in a prawn near the power station. It was an epic f(l)ight and the beast really scared me...
But the warper kills me every ti… -

I don't take the Cyclops into an unexplored environment either. It's way too big for many of the caves, usually you can get it in there by careful maneuvering. But you need to get out all the time to fix the holes you b… -

A game is so much more than it's graphics. I don't pick games for the pictures. But for the idea they're selling me. And I think that's how most people perceive it.
Lightshafts are admittedly super sexy for any underwater action though..… -

I worked with both UDK and Unity, briefly, I can hardly call myself an expert. But the idea I got is that UDK makes great looking shooters. If you want something else then unity is often easier to work with. The UDK scripting is just impossible to g…

A planet can have more dangers of course. If we're speaking enormous humongous oceans reaching down into the mantle of the planet. Then you might have geological events that usually don't reach the surface get ejected into the water.
(Quote) I'd understand And I'd love to hear it.. in Development process suggestion Comment by willow512 December 2013At first I thought Roguelike.. Hell no! But roguelike really only means: Randomized levels/critters/potions and turn based permadeath. Turn based is of course not appropriate, but the rest is pretty much what we understand SubNautica to be like.
Precisely.
But combat does not necessarily exclude killing animals does it? After all, we might want to kill a species to have one of our lab guys have a look at it.... I'm not quite sure if that'll work for good old leviathan.

How about tagging the large predators and making sure to not be where they are? A bit like the crocodile from Peter Pan. When you hear the ticking it's time to split!I thought the idea was exploration/colony building. So I really hope NPC's are part of the experience. Doesn't have to be complic…(Quote)
Procedurally generated life forms honestly aren't that bad. If you want to go the full blown artificial life direction where animals can grow multiple limbs depending on evolutionary pressures. Then yes, good luck to youYou sure, I personally feel a strange tingly feeling in my lower belly whenever anyone says the words "procedurally generated". I thought everyone had that? Thanks Harimau

There's no real understanding. I'd like to see a game that requires a deeper understanding of the world you're in.
