Huge part of the stress of the game is the fact that the score is visible. In a game like ns2 it shouldn't matter if you win or lose. The score is just for balancing purposes. But the fact that you can lose points because of the in… -

Skill level is not a good surrogate for comm-ability. Need a comm score based on number of wins as comm. -
ZOMG!

How did he even find this thread?

I was strongly against F2P in the past. However I think that this is a risk we should take.
Waiting to see what happens to Evolve's F2P player base might seem reasonable, but remember that Evolve is not NS2. You would be comparing apples… -
Yeah agree with this. Please provide a cross so that we can close the popup without answering. I just click random options to get the screen out of the way!

Great news. A new comp scene rises from the ashes

Careful, I think cars are also politically incorrect. Please limit your transportation discussions to trains/buses only.
Funny to see the person who brought politics and social engineering in to this discussion now suddenly trying to be … -
I think shruggies are the way to go. More shruggies = more skill? We'll never know.... because that is the point!

It's not about you, it's about the server owner's emotions.

Exactly my point. Nonsense political correctness ruining video games now.
It's fine though. Just shout and get annoyed as you want. It's not your fault if the social engineers want to hide the fact that someone is new and inexperienced. -
Careful, if you keep speaking logic like this someone may come and accuse you of political incorrectness against bad ping servers!
Also, why are bad performance servers given a sadface? And good performance servers given a smileyface? Th… -
NS2 console port and HL3 confirmed?

Or green and white, like we used to have

I'm not too fussed about this.

As an update, I think the mod-deactivation bug has been ninja-patched because it seems to be working.
Otherwise, games seem ok. I think players are slowly adapating to the 10-minute, 3-RT onosplosion issue. -
Same old social engineering claptrap. You can't use politically correct nonsense to go against rules of nature.
There will always be new players and therefore there will always be noobs. Similarly in life, there will always be people who… -
Trophies for participation only dumbs everyone down.
Now being called a noob is some kind of mega insult? Stop taking yourself so seriously.
Enough with the discredited social engineering and the politically correct nonsense.… -

Technically, a well positioned 1/1 marine should be able to take out 5 skulks with support of 1 or 2 medpacks, at least in the early game. If you can't it doesn't mean you're a noob. But if you can, it means you are decent.Dang missed it!How is being marked as a rookie a badge of shame? We need to know who the new players are so they can be distributed evenly, and given appropriate guidance. Until you have a few hundred hours of experience in this game, you are definitely rubbish. I…Yeah we need an easy to see rookie indicator, if only to be able to evenly distribute them.(Quote)
lelNoticed that my mods keep turning off every time I restart the game. In the past they were disabled after a new update, but once I restarted them, they would always default to On until the next patch came out.
I think there is some bug w…Again, I don't think "how to play lifeforms" needs to be addressed immediately.
The main problem in NS2 is not knowing what you are supposed to be doing when you spawn in. That's why I think it is good to have some easily-checkable objec…I think most of the stuff like whether to bite or spike when standing next to an extractor can be learned in-game, during a match.
But things like knowing that you SHOULD be heading towards the enemy extractor in the first place should b…Thing is SC2 single-player experience has basically no use in playing on ladder.
All I am suggesting is small tweaks to try and at least spell out what you are generally meant to be doing.
Can't always expect a decent comm, and can't alw…20-30 seconds extra won't really do much to the game! You can make it 15 seconds even.
As Revan says, a little bit extra time would be useful to plan game strategies.
I see it's a server side thing, but I think an enforced pre-game where…(Quote)
Yeah exactly. Good point about all-talk while the 2-3 second countdown is going on! It's fun, but I think once everyone is ready, there should be a longer period to discuss tactics and strategy.
