You haven't found any orange balls/blobs floating around? I found them in the moonpool as well as just outside of it where the juveniles escaped too. They're not very obvious, just small orangey blobs that are easy to overlook.

Mine hasn't crashed while saving, but I've had several instances of 3-4 minute save times. I immediately follow those with another save, that one is usually quick and easy.

It took me forever to find them. Already had my Cyclops and prawn suit actually.

No, it's still broken. I started a new game when the update came out. I've found a single Mobile Vehicle Base fragment, there is no silver anywhere on the map, slow downs and hard crashes still abound.
