Changing the engine at this late in the game is out of the question, as it would push the game back probably a year. If UWE can't extend or work around the "limits" mentioned, then likely the game scope will be drawn back a bit. That said, I have co…

Saves usually can be upgraded, although not always.
Note: The Unity 5.6 update is taking UWE more time than originally expected (especially on XB). -
I really wish you had to have a sprawling base with all kinds of mining or research-related stuff going on. An "extractor" would be built inside a Multipurpose Room, on top of a mineral spot. A "refiner" would be built in a different area of the map…

The main problem is xbox's horribly slow hard drive. Hopefully, Scorpio will come with an SSD option, which would basically fix the problem (this does wonders for loading times/lag on PC). Until then, UWE is continuing to work to make the content st…

I'd like to see optional questions about Subnautica or Natural Selection be asked when a new user registers. If you do not answer these correctly, then you would only be allowed to post to a newb board. (You could always go back to re-answer these c…

I would think that the PG should be available on faster machines. I play with PG in Creative mode on a mediocre laptop with an SSD, and it works fine. Yes, there is a bit of pop-in at times, but its not game-breaking.

Another issue has been hitting hard limits for textures/assets, causing a stall in new content being added to the main release branch. Addressing this is one reason the latest update has been pushed back a bit.
-
One major issue with Xbox is the fact that all of the game content must be pulled from a (slow) hard disk. This is also a problem on slower PCs, with hard disks. UWE has been working on this, and I expect this will be mostly (although not completely…

This thread is about the XBox save bug, which was specific to XBox as it was caused by how XBox compresses save files. Anything on the PC is totally unrelated, and is a separate bug. I recommend you start a new thread if you have a PC related save i…

Infected was release to PC on ~March 2

For the daily releases, use:

I've seen players disable the hud and run at very high aspect ratios.
-
Subnautica is going for an E10 rating. That is easily family friendly.
-
The OP said to ignore the "07" part, so I'm presuming its 211.43 K - remember most countries use comma as their "cents" separator.

The crafting pool is the best idea I've seen to address this. You drop it in and it just works.
in Inventory management is kind of a PITA. Here's an idea. Comment by Racer1 March 2017

UWE has a history of supporting/extending their games for quite a while after "1.0" release. At the very least, I expect that as long as new players keep coming in there will still be new development -- as they have portrayed at least a desire to ke…

Good to hear!
For those that care, the cause of this bug (terrain modification/saving) is quite stagnant right now due to the fact it is in the process of being removed from the game. Once that happens, we will hopefully not see this pro… -
This is awesome. And its believable too. Barnacles etc. attach to ships (and large animals) all the time.
-
Unfortunately, the saves contained ALL terrain (or something around that) that was ever loaded into the game (by player movement), whether it had been "terraformed" or not.
-
The tool has already been officially "cut out", but the ability to remove terrain is still technically in place. This means the performance improvements expected by this plan will not yet be seen. However, this should come soon given the XBox perfo…

That appears to be a shader bug, although it could be due to low graphics card (or system) memory.
Try turning down your graphics quality - F3 menu texture option 4 (I think).
Alternatively, try turning down your shader LOD - F3 me… -
This is caused by the areas (aka chunks) loading at different levels of detail, and the seams caused between those areas.

I am running Subnautica right now on a 3 year old "gaming laptop" and it plays fine. It isn't awesome framerate, and certainly can't do VR, but it plays most games just fine, albeit at 1080p.
I highly recommend the MSI G* laptops as both… -
I wish the current vertical base connector could be used as a support. In its simplest form, you could build down from a current base, until hit hits the seafloor - at which point it could become a "support" and the other supports could go away.
Agreed @morowsubmarine
Or just make the nuclear reactor a "quantum" nuclear reactor, and make the energy it generates only usable by certain devices. When I updated to an SSD (no other PC changes), my loading times dropped from multi-second lag to near-imperceptible.It has dropped in the past due to sales, but the base price will stay at $20 for the near term. As to what UWE plans to charge once the game is released (~May 2017), I don't know.
P.S. I personally feel they would be justified upping the…I believe signals are supposed to help find wrecks (and their fragments), etc. - Who knows when they will work properly though. They should just flip the recipes in which silver/gold are used.
