I think this is a bug at the connection between the Power source and the Base. The connection seems to be a bit unstable and the game doesnt really acknowledge the conection to (some) single power source(s) sometimes.

The charging speed is fine since you can just craft a few extra batteries/cells to keep the chargers loaded with them.

In the current experimental build on creative mode i saw an upgrade for the battery to a lithium battery that doubles its capacity. I hope this will come to all modes and will then be able to close this gap.

I know this sounds a long time first, but if you dock your Seamoth usually first i get something to eat and drink then maybe sort in some loot in the storage or craft some stuff, then 2 Minutes is not too much time.

I think you understood something wrong here. You would not need to throw away anything here since in this case Energy Cells wold be (like they do with Batteries right now) rechargeable with any energy source you choose

Not a bad Idea in general, but since breaking is a little too hard and they also wouldn't do in real i wold rather suggest to slow the walking speed when they are equipped since it's really hard to walk in them.
