I've updated my original post with an upscaled 1080p video and it looks much better than my original even in 720p. YouTube's 1080p bit rate seems to be ridiculously higher.

(Quote) I was wondering the same thing as dePara. Thank you for the explanation. Do you happen to have Arkanti's other mod called Hide Yo Alien Weapons?
-
(Quote) It's a mod by Arkanti called Hide Yo Gun Model. His mods have been taken down from the workshop for some reason, but this one still works for me. I like it more than NS2+'s disable viewmodels option since the hands are visible and I can e…

As Auron mentioned, I highly recommend binding your most frequently-used actions close to your movement keys. Less-used actions should be further away from the movement keys. This works well for all games that use the keyboard. You might even want t…

(Quote) How about an in-game plushie that you can equip on a marine's back? I'd probably reserve that for the winners of an actual season, though. It would give more recognition to competitive players outside of the comp scene.

In for a plushie.

I've been thinking about this and I realized you can use AutoHotkey to swap key functionality. If you find that certain keys or mouse buttons stop responding after running a script, don't panic and just suspend the script. I am not responsible if an…

(Quote) I haven't even done it yet, but I plan to for peace of mind. I doubt I'll see much difference in-game since I use G-Sync, which gets rid of stutters. I also make sure to close programs like web browsers before starting NS2. I haven't been…

(Quote) My guesstimation is that G-Sync causes somewhere between 9-12ms of motion blur on average when I cap NS2's frame rate to 120. This is about the amount of motion blur caused by a non-strobed 100Hz LCD (10ms). I'm pretty sure G-Sync is not …

I have a VG248QE with the G-Sync upgrade kit installed and G-Sync works fine. I just have to cap the frame rate to 120 after starting the game every time (explained here, press …

No curved HP/energy bars near crosshair (crucial when I fade)
No last life or round end stats
No team-specific sensitivity
Lack of other misc. quality of life improvements

(Quote) This sums up my thoughts nicely. Going from one round with a JP for every marine to a round where none have spawned is disappointing and makes a marine loss much more likely. I actually like the randomness, but I would much prefer the min…

Does using the E-welder result in the same exact mechanics as switching to my welder and using it on an unbuilt/building structure? In this case, can the E-welder be blocked by my teammates, can I damage lifeforms with it, and does it repair damaged…

(Quote) I did some research and it seems you're right. I always get target lock, auto aim, and aim assist mixed up. The term "aim assist" sounds the most ambiguous out of these, so I've been lumping up anything related to assisting aim, including…
-
(Quote) Traditionally, it doesn't fit the definition of aim assist since this term is specific to consoles. For PC multiplayer games, I consider the definition to be broader. The bite aid does not make active changes to your aim like in console g…

That bite aid is easily one of the coolest, recent developments in NS2 modding. It's such a simple, yet ingenious, addition to alien vision. It synergizes very well with NS2+'s circular HP/energy bars next to the crosshair.

(Quote) Rarity is a good idea, but it only works if there is a drop, crafting, or stats system. You can't just arbitrarily slap a certain rarity onto a skin and price it higher than others. There needs to be a reason behind the rarity.
This is a cool idea, but I don't know how useful it would be. I usually don't bother paying attention to what my teammates are doing in spectate mode once I die. I just keep the map open and pay attention for any new intel that I can pick up (i.e. b…
