I'm assuming you're essentially stating what this would be like in the real world, and why it's nonsensical. Am I correct in that assumption?

I could not breathe for a good 30 seconds after reading this. I'm just glad I was out of class at the time. XD -
Wait, do you actually get a net increase in energy by charging power cells in the Cyclops? If so, that's ridiculous, and should be replaced by some sort of generator. If there is a net increase, that breaks the laws of physics more definitively than…

I agree with the idea of having some sort of option to randomize the layout of certain other biomes. I've seen a few people suggest expanding the map with some degree of procedural generation. As in, where the Void currently is, ha… -

The one problem with having corners underwater is that is tends to create weak points. With a rounded shape, pressure is distributed evenly around the entire structure. With boxy shapes, the pressure is focused more on the flat fac… -
I see predators go after prey fish all the time. I've never bothered to get close enough to see if they succeeded, though.

CrepeSquid, is that you?

He's referring to a semi-popular Youtuber known for breaking the hell out of Kerbal Space Program. To be perfectly honest, Spirin's phrasing did sound kind of like something Danny would say.
Glad to see I'm not the only… -
I've always thought that game devs should have a side mode where bugs are left in. Stuff like this is the reason why.

I'm pretty sure sleep is planned, but I'll be damned if I don't want the clock and light switch. There are times when I have to step away from the game for a moment because it hurts to look at the inside of a base. And I can't just turn down my PC b…

I'm not entirely positive, but I think an arctic biome is already planned. I could be wrong, though. I do like the idea of thermal vents keeping the water liquid, though. There's a lot of interesting stuff that could be done with ice.

Chain-Thermoblade?
I like it. >: D -
That's exactly what he was suggesting, and I agree. Although, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure why you'd want more than 2 Moonpools in a single base. Aside from aesthetic reasons, it's not like there are more than two types of vehicles that are M…

Ah, alright. Glad that got cleared up.

I'm probably interpreting what you said incorrectly, but while I agree that Hardcore should probably delete your save when you die, removing the option to save altogether is ridiculous. People do need to sleep, after all. Su… -
Mine is Amber from Rune Factory 4. She was my bachelorette of choice during my ongoing playthrough, and she also happens to be a butterfly girl. Those red things in her hair are antennae, and she has wings. No, I do not have a bug fetish. She's just…

If you mean basically a harpoon gun, there's already a thread about that, with plenty of debate. :P -
I didn't know this thread existed, so I ended up creating one that was pretty similar.

From what I understand, one of the requirements for actually leaving the planet is disabling the gun. I'm not positive about that, though.

I personally like Capshaw's idea. While I absolutely love the idea of the Single Cell Landscape, I also want a bit more to the world. Perhaps have an overall larger world filled in with procedural generation, and then at the eventual border of that,…

Yeah, I don't exactly want to make it harder either. After all, my first suggestion was having a transmission provide information on an important technology being located in the Aurora. Although in all honesty, they are kind of locked out of the sto…

Oblivious - Run out of oxygen in an unpowered seabase or vehicle.
Darwin Award - Drown just below the surface without attempting to ascend.
Spicy - Eat a Lava Eyeye or Lava Boomerang.
Evil Mastermind - Have a base… -
Yeah, of course. To be honest, a lot of stuff probably wouldn't work too well without some supporting information from the PDA.

Bonus points to you for bringing in XKCD. But yeah, that "background prop" argument is what I was thinking. After all, it's not like the player really has many suit options besides the radiation suit at that point in the game. There's no pressure to…

Yeah, I'm not for forcing it either. But a first-time player might not realize the importance of going over there without some additional nudging.

Yeah, I just learned the other day that they actually get longer when you try to type text into them. Until then, I thought they were too small to be of much use for anything.
I'm an idiot sometimes. :P -
I agree that a little more incentive to go to the Aurora could be a good idea. Perhaps have some valuable piece of technology only be available there, and have that information be revealed in a transmission. Other than that, I've got nothing.
-
I'm inclined to agree, although I'm not sure whether or not the current system is capable of that. I think it could certainly make navigating larger bases less confusing. When all your multipurpose rooms have a similar layout, it's surprisingly easy…

As a side note, since having them spawn everywhere seems like a bit much, I would personally suggest having them in the southwest corner of the map. Considering that's really the only large portion of the map besides the starting area that's free of…

Yeah, this bugs me a bit too. It's definitely irritating when exploring the Aurora. There are so many areas where it looks like there's a foot of water, but your character ends up splashing more than a Magikarp, with about the same amount of success…
