  • Bump, as I'm having same problem
  • If the power code is getting refactored, I'm hoping the devs decouple charging rate from stored power and reintroduce the accumulator. Personally I'd like the accumulator brought inside the base modules, looking kinda like Tesla Powerwall batteries.…
  • That really does look amazing. Is the fog effect in large bases gone? also, if a base has a room at the water level, will the water surface effect be in that room like it is currently?

As more and more water is added, the earth's gravity would slowly climb, from the added mass. So it would never overflow. There are some extrasolar planets out there that we've discovered that scientists believe to be completely co…
  • I've got experimental mode, but no water desalinator. Is it available yet?
  • Maybe this is to be a replacement of the larger locker. It looks like there's additional space between each labelled door for greater storage space than the small locker.
This is also just like suggestions I made regarding the "crafting pool" …
  • What about a zoo-like enclosure, made of titanium mesh, and shaped like the room, only bigger. Or with a torus of standard corridor segments around, and optional inward facing windows.
Perhaps in several sizes, If a room is 3 units across, may…
  • In the summary document, power storage for the base and recharging of power cells were discussed as two separate devices, but why not combine them?
Why not have the old power generator model used as the hub unit, capable of accepting up to six…
  • I agree with the upramp tunnel, we need something stair-like. As for the 45deg section, this would require the inclusion of a whole suite of new diagonal, Y- and X- connectors.

As a counter-proposal, why not expand the connection options…
  • I think this is basically the idea for the lost river biome
  • Paradine, I agree, if it were to include plug-and-play power modules, then yes it should be inside.

Sojo, I would agree with that assumption also. Solar, thermal, bio, nuclear. These should not affect stored power, just rate of ch…
  • I'm getting same as njs7t3, My base is in a trench where grand reef, grassy plains and kelp forest meet. Cannot find blood kelp anywhere, scoured the edge of the grassy plains and the sparse reef right out to an immense cliff/hole, no blood kelp.
  • I'll agree with this, it's frustrating (mildly) to have to break out the mobile constructor any time a seamoth is lost (I'm clumsy, okay....). It'd make sense if seamoths (or exosuits) could be built in the very room designed to accomodate them.

These were an idea i was initially dismissive of, but I think there's something to this. I imagine these as place-able anchor points on foundations or base modules, perhaps snapping to halfway between top and side of corridors, and…
  • Love this idea! Especially now that ladders have been given the ability to be placed on the four outer tile in rooms, the technical freedom to make stairs like this seems possible.
  • Perhaps the nutrient blocks obtainable from the aurora could, by their compact nature, be stackable up to 4 blocks per inventory space, and give 25 food each. (purpose being 1 inventory space gives full nourishment.)
Also, near end level, we s…
  • +1 for glass roof/floor on rooms. There's even concept art.
  • I agree with a few refinements to the placement rules, although I feel it should be free placement on ground, or a snap-to placement on top of rooms/corridors, with a custom geometry to integrate, say, panel base with corridor roof, or non-central p…
  • As for recharging batteries, I agree that we need other uses for lithium, and Li-ion batteries are a cool idea, but I also like Leonhardt's idea for a charging station, like a small locker that can be built on the wall of a base, that recharges what…
  • Honestly I'd like to see the old power generator model brought back as the new accumulator, with 6 power cells in it, like the cyclops power unit. I'd also like to be able to use it as a charging point for power cells placed in it, having power cell…
  • If we are discussing defences, I'd suggest some sort of sonic projector, that has a cone of effect, and causes struck creatures to flinch and flee.
  • As Leonhardt said, ctrl c, ctrl v. My slightly different take on the above ideas

Hydroponics farm- I see this as a dedicated room, perhaps moonpool size, with numerous plots for growing various things.

    Desalinator- Process de…

    Sure, have fun.
  • Some progress on a new fold-up solar panel unit I decided to make:
    BmWqNtU.png
This is the stack when folded, as seen with body removed,

I absolutely agree. I imagine these upgrades will come in when we can sample the DNA of local creatures, scan eggs and take samples of the local flora.

    Solar upgrade ideas:
    better charge rate, photosynthetic polym…
  • If the Cyclops hits something at any point in the docking anim, docking immediately cancels, the collar/arm letting go and retracting, and the cyclops free to player control. As for any damage incurred, well, I'd say it's up to the player to place t…
  • Three thoughts on how to impliment this:

1: snap-to-locker/fabricator conveyor tubes, would require stricter placement of lockers/fab.

2: conveyor bulkhead behind lockers, would be placed like window/reinforcement panels, wou…
  • 04Leonhardt, i like all your suggestions, but have slightly different takes on a few of the listed ideas:

Hydroponics farm- I see this as a dedicated room, perhaps moonpool size, with numerous plots for growing various things.

  • I would love to see bases and furnishings fleshed out a lot more, like the suggestions above. (Quote) I really like this idea! Spiral stairs in rooms or vertical tubes, with upgrade-able metal and glass versions for vertical.
    Perhaps a power…
  • I voted for lethal weapons, but only in the sense that the knife is already a lethal weapon. Personally I'd like to see weapons that don't so much kill, as drive off predators. A modern day harpoon gun might kill a stalker, but it'd be a needle to a…
