It is not a final solution. but it will help you to "fix" the issue and be able to save the game again.

That should allow your game to save… -
Happened again. This time I was further down the story. Elements of the background started to not load (maybe that is a sign of imminent crash). Tried to save and... Invalid Call error.

I had to refrain from watching too many Subnautica on Youtube. Had to be really carefull not to go a little bit too far on playlists and stumble on any huge spoillers.
