Heyo,,,,ns members..
The day is approaching closer and closer, GOLD!! I CANT WAIT!, give me the goods, or ill chew on my arm.
k, now that i have calmed down, I was wondering about texture detail.Since my comp is the "supreme of all comps"
overclocked to the max, I was wondering, if the texture detail on some certain railings can be modified to look more "clean," for some reason, it bothers me to to see railings that looks flat like paper. Other than that, it IS GUNNA ROCK THE MOD WORLD!!@#! sry, if this post bothers anyone, but i tend to be picky and this pickiness combined with my ns tantrum can equal a thread like this

Not to sure even what your question is.
I'm sure that if you have a decent comp, it will look fine.
He's asking if there's a way to amp the small graphics like bars so they're not ugly and HL like.
But you can definitely improve your image quality by turning on anisotropic filtering, if you have it. The Radeon 9700 supports 16x AF, and Half-Life looks so much better with it.
If not, the least you could do is add these two lines to your config.cfg:
GL_TEXTUREMODE "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR"
GL_ROUND_DOWN "0"
Anyone should be able to make that adjustment, and the game looks better immediately.
I know this doesn't answer your question, so deal with it. Anyway, what video card do you have?
and 512 pixel textures instead of the standeard 256
also how do you get high quality skyboxes?
is there some place i can find all these options listed? why the hell are these options not in the game itself?
but untill then u can get a list of most commands and what they do HERE
i didn't find the command to use the high-quality TGA skyboxes instead of the low-quality BMP skyboxes though. anyone else know it?
man what the hell is wrong with these people that they don't put these options in the game?!? DAMN ########!!! ! i would have enjoyed the games a lot more if i had known this before. now it's too late, i finished them all!
also, just becuase you run HL in 32bpp mode, the textures are still all on a 256 color pallette :P With the entire game designed around being in 16bpp, there are going to be very few times where it would even be noticible that its in 32bpp. So really if you can't tell the difference visually, I don't see any point...
and back to the ORIGINAL question:
The NS mappers are smart. They know when to use the { style transparent railings and when not too. It doesn't look like crap, it looks very very good. Just have faith. NS has (and this is my opinion) the absolute best mappers around, not only in the HL community, but in the entire game community, including the professionals at game companies. They absolutely rock...
