    Let's say it once again: "regen is not for people that don't know how to pick their fights". Rushing shotguns head on is stupid. Blinking on top of the squad letting them waste their magazines into the ceiling, then dropping down for a swing or two and vanishing behind the corner is smart. You'll want cara for the first and regen for the second.

    Why don't you just write 'OMGZ0R TEH CARAPACE IS TEH NUB FOR TEH FADEz0RRR!!!11oneone' and have done with it?

    I'm all for Regen for Fades (as noted previously) but I've also seen some truly awesome Fadework done with Carapace, particularily versus HA.

    Carapace fades are great for hive defense. They are practically invicible.

    Go back to the start of the thread to see the sensible discussion of regen vs cara. There, the benefits of hit and run regen for remote operations is discussed on pretty much equal footing with Forlorn's point here.

    Carapace fade: tank

    Regen fade: flanker

    It's really obvious when you think about it..... I'll have one of each on my team, thanks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I personally use the Regen fade because I have a blitzkrieg style of engaging the enemy. I do really well with this but Carapace is also pretty useful, its useful for starting and ending a fight all in one shot, but its a gamble because if you are caught going back to the hive, you could die. Regen is used for starting several small fights and breaking the marines down almost 1 by 1, the constant attacking of the fade can also be a distraction for other aliens (mainly skulks) to come in and clean up, and whats even better on pubs is that most marines will focus on the biggest target (i.e. Onos or Fade) with regen you can blink around and let them waste their clips, regen up and catch them on the reload, with carapace if they do a little too much damage you have to get out of there.

    Hive defense cara fades are win hands down.

    I really don't like carapace fades now. They are too inflexible. In general carapace fades are worse players than regen fades. I'm sure I could use carapace to great effect, but thats because of my fade skills and nothing to do with carapace.

    If you don't agree, then watch a good regen fade and try and do what they do but with carapace. You'll find you won't be able to keep up the same sort of pressure. A cara fade may be able to kill 2 of 4 marines in one attack, but give me half that time again and I'll kill all 4. The cara fade will have to dissapear to heal whilst in the meanwhile backup has arrived.

    I disagree its about preference. Cara fades are less effective than regen fades and no argument of them being harder will make a difference. Fades need to be everywhere at once and thats not possible with carapace.

    A regen/metab fade will heal damage about twice as quickly as a cara/metab fade.

    Shotguns are dangerous yes, but just learn how to fight them. Don't try and kill them in one go. Blink swipe blink away.

    People have been talking about adrenaline. Sorry but thats an utter waste as well. Silence is secondry to celerity. A fade is quick and agile, celerity enhances this, adrenaline simply means u can blink further and longer, oh and slower...

    ...though in defence of adrenaline, you can fly around rooms which can be fun.

    Please don't hate me for being right <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    That last reply was meant to instill madness updon the carapace fade supporters. Only wrote it like that to try and provoke a reaction <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> (probably not meant to do that am I?) Ahh well.
