A couple, some already mentioned (but hey, if they're mentioned more often, and there's to many people you can cut the people with fewer votes).
Gordon Freeman - Half-Life Sam Fisher - Splinter Cell (reminds me so much of Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter...I mean, Splinter Cell, what kind of name is that?) Dogmeat - Fallout/Fallout 2 (maybe the Vault Dweller 2...heh, if you dispense your stats adequately) Frank Horrigan - Fallout 2 (or just any Enclave soldier, advanced power armor just looks cool) Astra Galinsky - Ghost Recon (Dragunov SVD's are just awesome)scroll down past Lindy Cohen ...not that there's really any pictures.

Figured you guys would want a status report sooner or later Here's what I've done: I've registered with a free dynamic DNS service. In plain english this means I'll have a free but somewhat ugly-looking address (not as ugly as geocities.com/whatever, it'll be about as short as www.theAddress.com but with something instead of www) to host the site off of my own computers rather than renting servers or getting very limited webspace from a free host that spews popup ads out the wazoo. It also means that if my ISP decides my server is violating some contract I've signed, the site may have a bit of downtime once in awhile; if this happens, I'll have to think up some way to afford <s>bribing</s> negotiating with my ISP or renting an offsite server.
As for how it'll work: I'll put all of these heroes and villains into a big list and split it into "evil" and "good" characters. That way we get some interesting villain vs. villan and hero vs. hero battles early on, and we end with a huge hero vs. villain match or matches. I'm still deciding how many matches per week, and how to handle voting (I'd rather not have my machine get hammered by votestuffing cheaters). But I have been keeping this very much in mind, so I've got some ideas.
[edit]By the way, if NASA TV decides to air the FIRST robotics regional competitions like they did last year, you may see me there this weekend Not that I'm going to tell you what I look like, but you'll see some pretty cool robots. (and yes, I tried very hard to have ours named "Scorpion that hovars without flapping" until we had to remove the claw equivalents to make weight -- the name wouldn't make as much sense now.)
